"Laguna Pipes" are a thing for this reason. Don't be freaked out about cars hitting sound at Laguna, it's extremely common even for a lot of bone stock cars.

Are you a serious about the sound? Come on man....
Trackaholic stated he was pulled in for being over the sound limit and could not get on it for the rest of the day. This does limit the experience for track pack cars.
That can happen to every single car at laguna, it is a shitty thing to deal with, but it has absolutely nothing to do with Ford, the GT350, or option packages. Stop looking for another avenue to cast blame.

Damn you ford, damn you for making a 526hp beast that makes noise, you shoulda known better :headbonk::headbonk::headbonk:

I don't have a meter, but I'm guessing that without cats, my car is now above 100db at WOT from the, what, 100 feet away sound tower is at Laguna. It's just so freaking loud.

I removed the resonators yesterday and it definitely got louder as well. IIRC someone said the Rs were blowing 100dB+ at the track tour last year

I can't believe Ford would create such a nuisance!

I know it is little consolation, But I do believe Ford will have a fix for this.
From what we know, they got on it quickly, after even a few cars were reported.
Where are you getting this information? When I called Ford Performance and my dealer, I get the run-around with "should have bought the track pack..blah blah."

Just can't get enuff!
So I'm here at Sebring.... just finished my prep for tomorrow's hpde. An Instructor who has a Tech DIB GT350 approached me and asked how come his car loses power (aka limp mode) after approx 15mins or so on the track.

Every session... he can't rev past 5500rpm he said and it kicks in no more than 20mins into his session. Limp mode unfortunately. I showed him my trans and axle diff temp gauges which he doesn't have in his and recommended him to contact FP and go to the dealer since it's either or that's causing the reduced power mode in his car. :(

Thanks for posting this information. I think I will be cancelling my June track day if there's no solution from Ford Performance by then. Crossing fingers!

I agree, what proof is there that FP is looking into the limp mode problem. Has there been a statement from them?

Some member from the other site has stated that he spoke to a FP agent who said Ford is looking into this.
He said they are aware of the problem and are trying to find a solution to retrofit coolers to base/tech cars.

Engineers said the electrical will be the most challenging part.

That's all we know for now. Here's hoping for more info soon.

My R registers ~94dB at WOT

I hope so but would like to point out... This is info from a guy who said he called FP, who said Ford is looking at it...then went on to explain the game plan that they are pursuing? Ford is usually a little more tight lipped about these things. I wouldn't be surprised if this was somewhat sloppily extrapolated from the conversation.

Had a discussion off this forum and an idea came up: we were wondering if maybe the software is too aggressive and nanny ' ing entirely way too early and it just needs to be adjusted. No one can actually confirm any Tech/Base car trans temps after getting cut back can they?

I was thinking the same thing last night... the 3 that ran at PBIR in the novice group were not consistently pushing their cars lap after lap. In fact there was a lot of track traffic and I'm almost certain none were getting full clean fast laps. Could it be as simple as a very conservative fail safe threshold in the factory tune/algorithm?

Again - maybe it's a problem with the limit setting on that sensor? A little too aggressive? Just because we have cars that have been able to do it in the past doesn't mean that the fluids were not degrading faster than we realized.
