Be smart about this project and go rent a Mustang for the day so that you will not have a possibility of wrecking your own car. Take out the insurance on the rental so that you can relax if any damage should occur .
You are correct sir!

We're only talking about lifting 18'' and moving forward a few feet. It's not rocket science, forklifts are great machines for this kind of job. It sounds like the forklift he wants to use is well within capacity. I'd do it

Why are you even entertaining this?

If they deal with exotics they can afford to rent one.

ZERO people touch my car. Esp with a GD fork lift.

What could possibly go wrong?

why not just use ramps like a trailer My trailer bed is 22" up and I use 10 ft ramps to load the mustang on it
This makes more sense to me. Don't get me wrong, I still really want to see a mustang on a forklift, but if it were my car, I'd go ramps for sure. Once you consider that its only 18", plus full access to a steel factory, and that they fabricate conveyors that can handle a BUS (and could obviously just build ramps), I think ramps are the right idea.

Ok, so the fork lift goes well but the conveyor goes all wrong? Good luck with your car insurance. Oh, and at work - So no home owner coverage either. So sad... So sad...

If you google it, you will find all sorts of automated parking solutions. They don't use forklifts, and I think you can buy turnkey systems.

Sometimes you just have to have step up and not be afraid. It's kind of like where I live, in the woods. We cut 80' tall oak trees down around my house and buildings here and there. You just need to use the right technique and know your equipment

Forget pictures....you need to video thus so we can see the carnage.

No idea why you wouldn't just use ramps or go to home depot and stack 2x4s to make ramps....

This seems like a horrible idea...that's why video it lol

Using a forklift is possible for lifting a car, but you need something bigger than a standard fit. I have done this a lot because of my job, so I feel qualified to answer this. A capacity of 12,000 pounds is nice, 8,000 should be a minimum. Four-foot forks will cause your car to tumble off the other side with potentially disastrous consequences, so you need to avoid them and find some bigger ones.

Y'all realize this thread is almost 2 years old right?
I'm sure whatever was going to transpire already has.
Oh, and it's not that hard to find a mustang on a forklift, just search YouTube.
