Need some advice on getting the best possible launch and roll out of my automatic 2020 EcoBoost. I’m trying to figure out the best settings and techniques.

I got the car in July and I have installed so far
CVF Intercooler
CVF Charge Pipes
JLT Cold air intake
Steeda Throttle body spacer
Steeda BOV Adapter
Flash Shark Exhaust
One step colder spark plugs
Update Fuel sensor

I am Currently getting the CVF Catted 3"Downpipe installed, and will instantly flash my Toni McPhail tune.
  1. 40 and 60 Rolls: For 40 rolls, I know its 2nd gear for 4-4.5k RPM, and 3rd for 60. (40 example) I was told to drop to second gear while in "D" using the paddles, then drop to "S" (to hold the gear longer), and then floor it. However when I do this, it goes to 50mph and then just stays there in high RPM there. I also did it with dropping to 2nd already in "S" and it did the same thing; it does not automatically upshift. Am I doing something wrong? I don't believe there is anything wrong with the car because as soon as I go back to "D" it works perfectly fine, shifts normally.
For the record, during these tests, I had all the prior mods listed (besides the downpipe) with no tune. Maybe I need his tune so its doesn't stop at 50?

2. Stop Light / Digs: Just making sure I have this one correct. 3 seconds before the light is green start holding gas and break, rev to 2K RPM, when the light turns green get off the breaks and then slam the gas. If this is correct, should I be in D or S? Tack mode or S+?
Just trying to figure out how to get the hardest pull without the car fighting me. Appreciate any tips!

Coming from a 2013 elantra so im a complete noob. Thanks for the help.

I haven't gotten to that part yet. I tired this a couple times in the past 2 days and it just goes to 50 and does not upshift. However, as far as just smashing the pedal; that works perfectly fine, just haven't timed it.
What are you using to measure times/etc to decide what's "best"?

But I have a Cobb V3 and a REVX from unleashed tuning.

Get a DRAGY to bench your times. Trans in S, drive mode DRAG and get some good tires, else you're gonna spin and by good tires, I mean DR's. Your times will suffer by 1-3 tenths easily with normal hard tires. Down side is DR ain't cheap and they wear quickly, especially if you try and daily them.

If I seriously want to run fast and launch good, I run 20lbs on my MT ET Street R's. I do all of my runs at the track though, I ain't a street racer-

See I'm not specifically looking for the most power, I am having Toni make a conservative tune, just adding hp where he can but keeping it reliable. So I wouldn't really want to buy tires that are short term. I feel like after the tune the car will be more than I was expecting so that's not the problem. I'm really just trying to know the best way to race. Is there any technique, or just slam the pedal to the floor and steer. I don't really care about times either, just wanna have fun on the highway when I see another enthusiast car and hopefully win.

It's going to depend on your combo. Plus you need a way to measure so you can make changes and see what's faster. And you need consistency from good tires. Otherwise you're just guessing.
