That's basically what everyone here is talking about. Not an Ecoboost owner, but ran across this today. Pretty impressive gains imo.

Sorry, thought it hadn't actually been put on website until today. I go there frequently looking for updates to the eta to the power packs and never noticed it until today and obviously missed it earlier in this thread!:headbonk:That's basically what everyone here is talking about.
I'm curious is it not possible to alter that number with a tune or is there a way to see your ignition counter ?Is that a Proven Fact or just a theory. My understanding, it is not the flash counter that the use, but the Ignition Counter. This is from the Ford Job Aid:
I doubt we can change that number without the source code. Ford engineers are not dumb lol they are not going give us full access to the ECU. Even if we find a way to change the flash count, I bet that triggers another bit that acts as a flag to be set that lets the engineers know something is fishy. While the ignition counter does not explicitly say the engine has been reflashed, if the engine has 8 months old with an ignition count of 50 flashes, it is a pretty good indication that the ECU has been tampered with. If Ford really wants to know if the ECU has been touched, they will find outI'm curious is it not possible to alter that number with a tune or is there a way to see your ignition counter ?
I really don't think there is a flash count. What you are seeing there is the number of ignition cycles after a flash. They want to see a reasonable number of engine starts after it was flashed. My ECU was flashed after Ford did the PCV TSB.I doubt we can change that number without the source code. Ford engineers are not dumb lol they are not going give us full access to the ECU. "the upgrade for the four-cylinder pony car will be covered under the factory warranty, and 50-state legal."
Ford first started releasing info on this in dec 2014. so hopefully they have a head start :lol:the GT's stage 2 and 3 power packs that were announced in July are still not available with stage 1 (tune only) not being released until late Aug. guessing the EBM stuff is still months away.
Former Ford powertrain engineer here, yes there is logging in the pcm for the calibrations loaded, with dates.I really don't think there is a flash count. I've never seen anything that shows how many flashes. I'm not saying it doesn't exist, I'm just saying I've never seen it and never heard it from a credible source. Sure, lots of people on the Internet say they can. In my opinion that starts from one person that doesn't understand or misunderstood what he was told and then spreads it as fact to a bunch of people just believe whatever they are told...
