Title says it all. Vibe forged wheels are on the way, but do I keep the originals? Will it be worth anything in 30 years having an original set of factory GT350 wheels? Or just go for the money? I don't "need" the money to offset the Vibe purchase, but it wouldn't hurt. Wonder if guys in '65 were sitting around like us having these discussions.

If it's original to the car (even if not date coded or serialized), I tend to keep it if I do any mods. Can always swap back to original if I sell or it goes with the car.

But, it all depends on if you have space to keep the wheels laying around. You can re-use the Vibe boxes, but that's a fairly tall stack of stuff to keep unless you have space.

I’d keep them. May not have plans to sell the car now , but you never know what the future brings. The next buyer may really want everything original that came with the car, so I think it’s a smart move to hang on to them as long as you have room for them of course...

I sold mine, don't really have that much storage space. And OEM 350 wheels are... well 350 a piece at rockauto.com... Brand new.

I consider wheels on a car consumables like brake pads, sorry. I usually change wheels on most cars I buy, unless they are really nice, like the M3 E46 was (had CSL wheels).

I am keeping them. Want to turn the car back to original if needed. Apply the same for all mods I have done so far: exhaust, rear seat delete, suspension etc...

I guess you could say technically my 2017 doesn't have the original wheels. I'd traded in my 2016 and the 2016 was placed on the showroom floor. My 2017 had a little wiggle in the steering wheel, the 2016 with 3,000 miles never did (but not bad) my tire repair place found that both front wheels were just a tad out of round (normal for the way these type wheels are made) and his balance machine couldn't correct it. The dealership owner said they would just take the tires and wheels off the 2016 and switch them to the 2017 if I wanted. With only 3,000 miles on tires I said sure. Not a bit of wiggle in steering wheel since.

I’ve thought a lot about this, as swapping to something like the p51 and selling my factory wheels would literally only cost me maybe a couple hundred bucks after i got paid for the stockers...you bought a nicer wheel though and i think i’d Rather be able to take them off when you trade/sell the car and recoup more money that way. I’d keep em

Keep them. When you sell the car they will be expected to be with the package or there will be a long story about how you sold the wheels to save 1K.

I'll give you $500 :D

I sold mine to fund some safety gear purchases. My car will be so worn out by the time I get rid of it (IF I ever get rid of it), the next owner certainly won’t care about whether or not it has OEM wheels. I think they’ll be more interested in the harnesses, roll bar, and aftermarket aero.

These cars aren’t really rare anymore. Won’t be hard to find new wheels if needed.

Actually they are $120 each. Dirt cheap.

Wait...what?! Actual OEM wheels are $120 on there? Not some cheap knock-offs? How can that be possible?

Keep them. I replaced my Tech Pack OEMs with 6GR wheels. When I traded up, I wished I'd kept the originals to swap back. You never know when you'll want the originals back.
