I am interested in getting this product. Here are some questions I have.

I have an auto. I don't like sports, sports+, or track because of where I drive most of the time. I drive in the city most of the time. In these other drive modes, the car feels jerky whenever I slow down or release the gas pedal to a cruising stop. The computer wants to put the car into a lower gear so that when I accelerate, more power is gain quicker (at least that's what I assume). While that's nice, I hate that the car jerks when it switches to a lower gear. I prefer the smoothness of normal mode.

But the throttle response is so slow in normal mode. My question is this. Will this product improve the throttle response in normal mode AND maintain it's characteristic? Meaning, will the throttle response improve without having the jerkiness of the other modes?

I like how smooth normal mode is when I slow down or let off the pedal. I don't want to lose that if my throttle is improved with this product. I might as well stay in the other modes if that's the case.

Last question, does this product affect the mpg? I assume it does?

I'm guessing you dislike the shift strategies in sport and sport+ modes. I'd imagine they can be altered via tune. Don't know for sure as I don't have an auto. The JMS unit will amplify signal regardless or mode. So throttle will be more sensitive in normal mode with less pedal input.

My base GT with no modes does exactly this. The down shifts are very abrupt. Don't want to call them violent, but you definitely notice them. I just figured it was a Ford thing.

Just cruising around and with a quick jab of the throttle, not a whole lot happens. I'd like to actually know and feel that I have a solid V8 under the hood when I do that. I know these things make power on the top end, but I feel like when I stab the throttle I should get a solid jolt of power like you would in a cable throttled car. Would this fit the bill?

It's very noticeable how much more sensitive it makes the pedal input on tip in. I dig it. makes a fun car even more fun to drive.

I pretty much answered your question right above you. Driving modes still behave the same, all that is changed is how the throttle is being delivered. Normal mode is still smooth. I don't find Sport+ to be jerky in anyway, even in stop and go driving, but I can see how some might not like the automatic downshifting. Only time my car is ever jerky, is if I downshift to first gear and I'm not quite ready for it.

As far as your mpg? It doesn't affect it one bit. However, like exhaust modifications, you might drive your car harder than you did before it, so you may negatively impact your mpg. But it won't change it on its own.

And it's worth repeating, the pedalmax wont actually make your car faster, but it will feel faster to you.

yes took 10 mins to install. Inline at pedal sensor no trace at ecm.

Indeed, it's a head game for sure. But it delivers the same power sooner. Not like a tune that is actually optimizing and gaining power. ;)

Yea. Install just consists of unplugging the harness going to the accelerator pedal, plug harness into pedal max, plug pedalmax into accelerator, and secure the pedalmax with zipties.

Easily reversible.
