We have seen many nice lifts in everyone’s garages, how does everybody else jack up their GT500’s without using car lifts? Are there locations on the frame to place a floor jack?

You'll also see a number of posts on jacking rails or "pucks I call them. Small blocks of aluminum that sandwich the pinch welds and are held on with set screws to provide a more solid base to jack from. That way you don't heavily distort the pinch welds.

A number of places sell them. Pretty basic. I recommend getting jacking rails that have been anodized to help prevent heavy corrosion.

I believe the owners manual has that. The same location used to lift the car if you have a flat.

However jack stands are another story. And yes there are threads with the underside pictured, and positioning pointed out.

Jeremy: Good tip and one I should have mentioned. Grabbed a shot of one for RL.

no i jack it up on the frame that has the bolts that hold the k member to the chassis.
I believe there was a thread, (may have been on s197s) to specifically not do that.

Ford doesn't want you to jack on that bracket because it is part of the safety features that is designed to yield in a front end impact. If it is damaged it will not work as intended during an accident.
