Yes, it is. And of course top it off to the max line when engine is COLD. Mine was actually below the min line when I bought it with 66 miles on the clock. It hasn't moved after I filled it up at the dealership (before firing up the engine, of course).

You NEVER, EVER open a cooling system when the engine is hot.
Well you can as the instructions above state, just wait 10 minutes and use a rag and go slowly, the coolant will still be hot. They have a long threaded section that will allow the pressure to drop safely whilst still retaining the cap securely.

If you order the orange on amazon they will probably send you the yellow since orange was discontinued.

IDK, Amazon is pretty good about sending what they advertise. I'd actually be pretty surprised if they substituted something without some notice. Right now there are lots of places with New Old Stock. I was still able to buy the 50/50 orange at one of my local dealerships a couple months ago.

Well, that would suck. I'd be pissed if I got that when I'd ordered Orange!

Some dealers still have the orange, the first dealer I went to sold me yellow, but the second one had about 9 gallons of the Orange left.

The yellow mixes fine with the orange and is the replacement for orange. Not sure why you'd be upset, but it works just fine. If that worried, use Distilled water to top it off until you flush to change to yellow.

It's the principle of mixing two colors that doesn't sit right with a lot of people, me included, lol.

For the folks claiming that it is ok to mix orange and yellow, could you post a statement or other documentation from Ford to back that up?

I agree, I'd like to see something written from Ford rather than hearsay.
I specifically asked one dealer and they said don't, another said they thought it was ok.

My owner's manual specifically says not to mix colors.

The ford TSB said that it can be mixed. Im not going to relook it up again when ive already done it myself and you can do it too. It says when topping up or flushing the system the yellow can be added. I do understand yall wanting to see proof though, its just not more my responsibility to find it than it is yalls.

Adding the yellow to the orange doesnt extend the life of it..itll still need to be changed at the orange interval while its mixed.

Edit..actually i went and found it again. (Hint..cobrajet linked it earlier in this thread...)

Also yes..my dealer also said they dont mix. Dealers are clueless 99% of the time.
