Thanks for all the help guys!

I called the guy again today and he says: "I think you are right about this". lol really?!?!? You think?!?!

I have explained to him that this will not go away and i am giving him 24 hours to fix it by himself without me escalating, if he has any brains he will give me my money back and not risk the consequences of an escalation.

I'll keep you posted!
Good luck.

Personally, I'd let the guys opensesame provided know regardless of the outcome. If I were a business owner/higher up, I'd want to know if my employees were doing something like this - there is no way this was some innocent mistake.

I'm going to stay positive and assume they will refund your money. The funny thing is how they kept your car an extra day to "install" nothing. Who was your salesman?

My opinion - this needs to be reported to Ford Canada as well as the dealership owner/senior management regardless of the salesman's response.

Think about all of the other less inquisitive people that will get burned by these clowns.

And yeah... what the hell were they doing with your car for the extra day or two anyways? Just part of the scam, I assume.

I am getting to a point i am so angry, so upset and so bothered by all this that i don't think it is worth the $500. I will decide what course of action to take today...
Oh, it's worth a LOT more than $500 at this point, trust me.

Get your money back, and then go to the police and report them for shady business tactics, and hopefully the police will check on every car they have sold in the last few years, and make them hurt. A few of the dealers I am currently dealing with have tried some shady things, and I have shut that down as soon as possible. It's always a good bet to check forums like these before you agree to things. I know, hindsight is 50/50.

Hey guys, another update.

I just got a call and looks like there is a cheque for the refund waiting for me at the dealership, i think i will only have time to pick it up on Saturday thou.

This is good news but looks like the problem does not end with the remote starter. I reviewed the invoice and noticed that the final price they billed me for doesn't add up, it is $1000 higher than it should be (after removing the remote starter from the equation).

I know because i have the unhaggle report i used to negotiate the price, so the car + accessories + shipping fee + taxes should match my invoice. Funny thing is i cannot compare item by item using the invoice because they only inform the total price, all the items in the invoice has "N/A" in the price column...

Anyway, i will talk to the GM in person on Saturday and ask him to review this pricing item by item, it will not surprise me at all if there is more wrong stuff in this deal. To be honest i blame myself for not paying better attention, this is what you get for trusting people

Trust No one. Specially dealerships that will steal right from under your nose. Talk to the GM and tell him how you felt "SCAMMED". Once you've got your pricing worked out properly, I would ask them for Free Oil changes for life, and have them throw in free all-season rubber mats for seats as a compensation for your troubles or you'll report their scam to the internet world. I was able to get both for free so I don't see why they will refuse you.

Let's see how it goes in person, dealing with the salesman over the phone is a mess!

I already got the free oil changes and the mats so they have nothing else to offer really, with all the money they stole from me it makes sense that they threw me those things.

In any case, i will NEVER take my car there again, not even for an oil change!

This is a wise decision. I would not trust them to do any work on your car; you'll have a little star next to your name after you get the price worked out. I would bet that every time you bring your car there it would leave with a new problem.

OP - Wow, that is some BULL!

Many people have already given you great advice, but don't settle for product. It's cash that makes a difference. You will probably never return to that dealership, so there is no point in accepting any possible "perks". I'd ask for the cash that they owe you (of course) and additional money for your time and research. If it wasn't for you doing your due diligence, this wouldn't have been brought up.

If they don't want to comply, put it all online and let the ravenous beasts have at them.

Good luck!

Take the money, and any differences found Saturday, and leave never to return. Everyone saying get time for spent investigating and free oil changes and stuff? Seriously? Won't happen. Just take your money back and leave while you're even.

This situation is messed up. I got ripped off a little on my last new car purchase from my local Acura dealership. Part of the door was repainted and they didn't mention it. Apparently it probably got messed up in shipping, as I had to ship it from another dealership. The only reason I didn't go off is that the car has given no problems in the 9 years I've own it. As far as my Mustang, I have a good dealership near me and I bought the car from a friend of mine, so I know he wouldn't rip me off. I know where he lives. LOL

I got my money back!

So finally a conclusion to this story.

I went there yesterday and had a conversation with the manager, they gave me a cheque for the $499 + taxes and we reviewed the remaining cost, the rest was ok.

When i asked him about my car staying there for a few days to install the remote starter the manager said this was a honest mistake, that the salesman got confused and opened a service order to install the remote starter without knowing it was already there from factory, and because of that the vehicle was put in a queue so the installation could be performed.

Apparently when the installation guys were about to start they realized that this car did not need an aftermarket remote starter and then returned the car to be delivered. Of course this is when the salesman had to realize his mistake and give me back my money!!!

Anyway, i got the money back and i have spoken to the manager. I don´t think he will do anything about it but at this point i really don´t have the patience to go after this anymore.

Thank you guys for the help with all the information, you helped me get $563 back! So i owe you all a beer!
