As far as the GT is concerned, I think the major reasons for choosing a V6 Ecoboost were size and weight rather than efficiency.

The 10 speed AT is listed as an option, but the 6 speed AT is not. The base is the MT, so the 6 speed AT is not being offered in 2018.
