Lol. Sorry to say buddy, but you got scammed. Automatics come standard with auto-start. The price you pay for the automatic alone, comes with the 6 speed select shift transmission, steering wheel paddle shifters and remote start system. Your salesman made you wait another day, while the car sat in the parking lot the entire day. The extra $499 went straight into his pocket, pure profit.

See attached image.
Sat in the parking lot if lucky. Hopefully when he got the car it didn't have extra miles because the salesman took it for a joyride. Sorry to hear that op. $500 is still a lot of money these days to just basically give away.

Ok, i can now confirm that this is not what i paid for, I installed the app and it asks for a SIM card number and PIN, this SIM card is what the software uses to communicate with the car from a distance.

I do not have this SIM card at all, i am now pretty sure this was a scam!

EDIT: Unless the guy is so incompetent that the dealership installed this and he failed to tell me or to give me the SIM card info...
Phone the dealer and find out what is going on. Even if they did install this, I'd want my money back if I didn't ask for it.

some v6 doesn't come with the remote start option. only the model with fog lights and the 18 inch foundry wheels comes with remote start. i think.

Remote start comes with the auto, no matter which engine or trim you get...
Sounds like scam to me... I'd ask for my money back and free oil changes for the time you own the car

As stated, all autos have remote start as default. If you paid extra, they took you. If you paid for the app thing, they should've set it up for you.

Go back, get money back, or take legal action.

I can't stand dealerships like that. I would plaster their name all over and report to whatever BBB like agency your country has.

Oh. And dealerships get serious attention from bad opinion forms that you fill out when you buy a car. Those go to ford. Use it.

Contact ford service on here. They can help.

What open sesame said. As per the Canadian Order Guide, the Remote Start System is part of the optional 443 Equipment Group, which includes the automatic transmission and paddle shifters.

If you optioned an Automatic on your V6, then it came with the Remote Start. If you got charged $500 over and above that, something is wrong.

Ok, replying to a few of your messages:

- The dealership in question is "East Court Ford Lincoln".

- I have called the sales guy yesterday morning to explain my findings, i first had him confirm that he did charge me $499 for the remote starter and that the dealership installed it, when i explained what i learned he quickly wanted to hang up the phone and said he would verify and call me back, of course he did not. (i have recorded the call)

- I had the order number so i tracked the car, when it arrived in the dealership he made me wait 2 more days so he could install the remote starter, when i arrived at the dealership he said they worked hard to install it quickly and deliver the car to me ASAP.

I am getting to a point i am so angry, so upset and so bothered by all this that i don't think it is worth the $500. I will decide what course of action to take today...

Thanks for the update. I definitely would not let them off the hook on this one, this is so far from okay - I cannot believe a dealer would have the audacity to so blatantly do something like this.

Like noted earlier, make sure you note this on the survey. I'd also give Ford Canada a call and get in touch with FordServiceCA on this forum and let them know what is going on.

I would also get in touch with the GM/Owner at the dealer. He may or may not be aware of these shenanigans.

Yea I agree with foghat, I would definitely send a message to the ford service reps on the forum and let them know what's going on. A lot can be done with $500 so I would be getting my money back

You want to do something that will get Ford Canada to react quickly ?!
Go on Twitter !!! I did that to fix something with a GM dealership, and they're VERYYYY eager to react on Twitter since things can go viral

This is the same dealership where I ordered my car. When I ordered my car in August of last year, they gave me the run around until I complained to the upper management in November. Finally got my car a month later.

Send an email to the following people and tell them your situation. Let them know that the rest of the Mustang world is watching.

Thanks for all the help guys!

I called the guy again today and he says: "I think you are right about this". lol really?!?!? You think?!?!

I have explained to him that this will not go away and i am giving him 24 hours to fix it by himself without me escalating, if he has any brains he will give me my money back and not risk the consequences of an escalation.

I'll keep you posted!
