The ESP option is standard for the Premium Model convertibles in the US. It's on my car and it was standard. And it is great for verts.

I really like the Enhanced Security Package!
Only downside I've experience is that my 7lbs dog will set off the alarm if she is in the car and I walk away... :frusty::lol::doh::headbonk::shrug:

I have it. The piece of mind from the locking center console is nice and while the interior sensors are nice for that as well, they prevent me from locking my car anytime I have my dog in my car and need to run into a gas station or something really quick. I forget about it half the time and he always sets it off.

Does anyone know what the "Perimeter Alarm" does? Is that the shock sensor?

Totally worth it. The lugnuts? Toss em, they are massive and look wrong next to the others. The Crossbolt that you hear go *thunk* into the steering column when engaged just ensures that car is going no where short of a flatbed. The active alarm system is nice and as someone that carries daily, the locking console is extra nice and meets this states requirements for storing in the car. It's more than just lug nuts and alarm..

Think about it this way. Its $400 bucks for the enhanced security package

If you went out and bought an alarm for your car you're at what? 200ish? and you would have to carry another remote on your keyring
Locking lugs are what $20?
Steering column crossbolt? Where can you even get that. The Club® at $45 or so and is not automatic, meaning you will forget at times or not be bothered.
And where do you go for an integrated electric locking center console??

Small price to pay I feel

Perimeter will stop the animals from setting it off ;) Set it to that

The cross bolt in the column is pretty sweet, it sounds crazy! I ordered mine with it for the locking center console. I didn't want to trust some 18 yr old at a stereo shop to cut up the harness under the dash. Most aftermarket alarms are way too sensitive also.

As others have stated, I liked the center console lock. When I'm in areas where I can't conceal carry, I feel safer knowing my weapon is locked in the console and if my car falls victim to a smash and grab, I doubt the jerk will waste time trying to break in to the console...

Slightly naive question...but what is this cross bolt being talked about and where can I order one (if necessary...I have the enhanced security package...but base trim)...

You can not order one - its built into your car at the factory if you have chosen the enhanced security package. Doesn't matter if its base or premium - if you have the ESP package - you're good to go

Don't you hear it when you stop your car and exit?..quite noticeable I'd say.

get in your car, with it off. close the doors and hit the lock button on your remote, that *Thunk* you hear from in front of you is the crossbolt engaging. If you don't hear it, you dont have it. Its more *Thunky* than the door locks engaging.

This is my technical terminology backed by pros everywhere ;)

I think sometimes of tossing the esp lugnuts but then I imagine what if my rims are stolen and the ins co finds out I removed those wheel locks. I'd be SOL..
