LOLLook where I live....but like I said I guess you have a more direct interaction with criminals so I must not know what I'm talking about...if you're speaking directly about DC then yeah that's a special bunch they will sit there and strip the car. Just admit the electronic locks are a deterrent and not useless like you said...you can't always be right.
No the rims were not a repossession. They were the factory OEM chrome clad rims that a group was going around targeting. I found them on craigslist trying to sell the rims for 600 for the set. A sting was set up and 20 sets of stolen rims were found and 6 motorcycles. The cars were left sitting on the frames onto planters bricks. Ford Fusions with 20" are also high targets.
I look at the features completely different, electronic stuff is usually the stuff that goes bad first. I've owned enough Lincolns to know that. I can buy a set of wheel locks for $20-45, all the Mustangs come with an alarm, the only thing I have yet to determine is if the center console is key lockable, I have not found any information about that. Have any of you that sat in one seen if the center console is key lockable? I assume the glovebox is lockable still?
I'll keep my race gear in the trunk, out of sight, plus if someone tries to smash and grab they'll likely knock themselves unconscious when they smash their head on my roll cage :headbonk:
Locks keep honest people honest, I see the point of you guys that CC, I live in one of those states, it would suck to need it and forget you locked it when you go to reach for it.
