Hey folks
I ordered the ESP on my 2015 GT fastback along with the Performance Package. Since there seemed to me to be considerable uncertainty about exactly what behaviour the ESP exhibits, I thought I'd perform a quick, simple experiment (mostly out of curiosity around the purported centre locking console):
1. Change car settings from "All Sensors" to to "Perimeter Alarm" (if not already configured as such).
2. Lock car with windows open.
3. Take fob some distance away (in my case, my metal mailbox).
4. Attempt to:
4.1 Open door handle
4.2 Reach inside and press door unlock
4.3 Reach inside and open centre console
4.4 Reach inside and press trunk release
4.5 Press external trunk release
Results:
4.1 Nothing, door handle opens and closes, but door remains closed
4.2 Nada
4.3 No effect, both handles are secured
4.4 Nuttin'
4.5 Zero
Note that this was with the system set to "Perimeter Sensor" which is what a base car would have. If I changed this to "All Sensors", from accounts here, I would expect that the alarm would go off when I approached or stuck my arm in the open window, or played with the door handle. However, I haven't tested that yet.
