Regarding the convertible, will the Enhanced Security Package "lock" or disable the interior trunk release button? Thanks in advance for an answer!
Looks like they are automatically disabled when you lock the doors. From the owner's manual:

Switch Inhibitor
When you electronically lock your vehicle, the power door lock button and interior luggage compartment release button, after 20 seconds, no longer operate. You must unlock your vehicle with the remote control or keyless keypad, or switch on the ignition, to restore function to these buttons. You can switch this feature on or off in the information display. See General Information (page 83).

This was a no brainer for me, $395 is nothing really and the lockable console is worth it for me alone.

I carry a gun most of the time and liked to lock it in my '13 GT console when going in bars or schools. Most of the time I came out, started my car, and then shit, had to turn car off and unlock console so if God forbid I need it I can get it.

Thank you :ford:

Edit - Oh and per the Product Guide I posted it also locks the steering column electronically which I hadn't heard about until then..whatever that does..
This is why I got it. I carry 100% of the time, but on occasion (going into kids school for example) I have to leave it in the car. I want it as secure as possible and also I would totally do the start the car and then shit..... thing.

it appears this package is now standard on convertibles...can anyone else confirm this? I read someone say that recently but cannot find the post/thread that was on. I had my dealer work up a quote for my convertible and there is no longer an "Enhanced Security Package" offered, which is sweet if it is standard as that lowers my price! The printout he gave me shows the "Active anti-theft system" and "Wheel locking kit" as $0 line items...though it doesn't list the locking console, I'd assume that is standard as well? The B&P still shows it as an option, the same as the coupes.

I just want to make sure I get it! I too carry a gun in mine :-)

You all are right on the money! I hit my books and I'm showing the Enhanced Security Package comes with the following:

• Active Anti-Theft System
• Electronic-locking center console
• Electronic steering column lock
• Wheel locking kit

Very true, it is a great package. It comes standard on the convertibles. Let me know if you have any other questions I can assist with.

If you'd like to send me a PM with your order number and dealer code, I'm happy to help keep an eye on your Mustang's progress. :)

Ok, so, serious question: is there a way to keep the center console locked while you're in the car? The only time I ever lock my center console is when I have passengers and don't want them accidentally opening up the console and finding things I want hidden. Specifically, that I keep "in case of emergency" cigarettes in there and don't want people knowing I haven't 100% quit.

I bet it could be wired up to a toggle pretty easily. It is probably just a solenoid or small motor just like a door lock motor. Would have to see a wire diagram to know for sure.

If you smoked and didn't shower, change clothes and use a bottle of mouthwash, they know and are just playing along the game with you.

When you've 100% quit for about 3 months and your sense of smell starts to return you will realize how easy it is to tell when someone smoked that day, from about 5 feet away.

But, to answer the console question: No, it has no manual lock on it so as GiddyUp15 said you would have to go MacGyver and wire something up if that's what you want.

Quit smoking 3 years ago after smoking since 17 off and on... would quit after a shitty sinus infection and stayed again after... can't stand the smell of cigs... makes me puke however, a hookah is fine though have not smoked those also for the years

I do change clothes and mouthwash and wash my hands (not shower though) beforehand.

My mother caught me once when she came in and gave me a hug and smelled it on my face, but that was just the one time and I played it as a one-time slip.

I'm not pretending I quit smoking and then smoking just as much as I always did. I'm down to about one or two cigarettes a week at this point.

I started smoking at 15 and kept on smoking full-time until... 22, I guess. Then quit fully for a year and have been on-and-off for the last decade.
