Thank you! There's another Ruby Red Raptor in the garage :cheers:Welcome aboard ARS1...looks like you've got a couple of winning Fords there.
I have heard of people being "vehicle poor"... But you I believe are "vehicle rich"!:ford:Thank you! There's another Ruby Red Raptor in the garage

...went to Vegas this past May and did the tour at Shelby American and came away with a LOT more admiration for Shelby the Man (as a retired Army aviator, Instructor, and combat veteran, I am proud to know that Mr Shelby himself was an Army Air Corps flight Instructor during WWII) than as was previously known as the racer and innovator (calling out Enzo Ferrari publicly for his underhanded tactics was legend and Texas tough). I am glad that Ford and Shelby remain synonymous with each other and hope this partnership continues for many, many years to come (somewhere I think Mr. Shelby is smiling while still kicking Enzo's ass)!Ok, had a few Mustangs since my first 65 289 W/pony interior. I am all in on the 16' GT350! I have been watching and waiting for the 2015 model for some time. Even watched the unveiling live (on internet, could not get wife to go to NY). I did however talk her into a trip to Shelby America during our vaca to Vegas last week.
As a Shelby fan I never knew the story behind the naming of the GT350. Very interesting!
My current car (Mustang) is a Pro Street 69 coupe with 501 solid roller that I used to run regularly in Eastern NC from 2001 - 2006. Runs consistent 11:20's on pump gas and Drag Radials.
Taught my son how to drive a stick in his 93' 5.0 as his first car. It is not to far from stock ~350 hp estimated and 3:26 gears. Bought it this way, was original auto car converted by some previous owner.
I also have an 98% stock 87 LX 5.0 with porno red cloth interior. It is solid but worn out so it is just a distant refurb project.
Now, on to the next 2016 GT350. Never wanted a new Mustang more. Well except for the 88' (or 87?) LX notch that graced the cover of Car Craft (or Hot Rod?) in 1988. That ship sailed and I do not want to miss out on this one! I am ready to trade in the Land Rover and sell the 69 if I have to get this one!
I rode in a Hellcat and got bit by the late model car with a warranty and A/C bug. My 69 is a wicked obnoxious animal but it is like any other over the top muscle car that cannot get caught in the rain. Took me 3.5 years to build the car but I never drive it or race it anymore. Not my thing to go straight all the time now. I'd rather have a nice Mach 1 (yeah a Boss 429 or 302 is not obtainable by this guy) driver as the collector car.
The days of drive to car cruise, wash, park for 3 weeks, drive for 20 min, repeat are not much fun.
I left out a lot but there it is. Hello everyone!
Apparently Mr Ferrari had a habit of pissing off the wrong people (Lamborghini was started as a farm tractor company that approached Ferrari about adapting Ferrari clutches for their tractors). When Enzo publicly insulted Mr Lamborghini for even thinking he could use their clutches, Lamborghini vowed to build a car company to exceed Ferrari's...the rest as they say is history! Yup...got the license plate frame that states "Next year Ferrari's ass is mine!"Phlyguy,
I echo the same. As a USMC KC-130 Flight Engineer (retired now), I also found his aviation back ground very enlightening.
Calling out Enzo...! To funny, it is the only shirt I bought! And a hat of course. Oh, and a flag for the garage. Hint, I am ADD.
Hi JamesHi All,
My names is James and I am from Sydney, Australia.
I am very much a car enthusiast. The very first car I fell in love with was the '69 Boss 302 Trans Am Mustang raced by Allan Moffat here in AUS when I was a little fellow, back in the early '70s.
I currently own a 2012 HSV E3 Clubsport which is a locally modified Holden Special Vehicles LS3 V8 Commodore (similar to a GM G8 delivered into the USA).
I have recently placed an order for a 2015 GT in Race Red, which will replace my HSV once it is delivered. I can't wait (but have no choice as delivery is estimated as 12 months away).
I have joined this forum to learn from the wealth of experience from your contributors and I look forward to being part of this Community.
Cheers,
James
