Just checking in.

2 weeks ago, I bought a 1 owner 2017 Mustang GT Premium Coupe (Ruby Red Metallic) 5.0L (6-Speed manual) that had 15,635 miles on the clock.

It came with 3.55 gears in the rear from the factory, but was otherwise bone-stock.

I drove it home, which was 400 miles from where I bought it in TN and I wasn't disappointed.

I've done a few very mild mods on my own, since I bought it: J&L oil catch can, Strut Tower Brace and a CORSA closed box, cold air intake.

I may look into a tuner down the road, but don't have any plans on doing much more to it. This is NOT my daily-driver and it will never see the track.

She will be spending most of her future with me, in my shop under a car-cover, unless I'm taking it out for an occasional spin on the weekend, or driving it to work, once in a while.

This is the 3rd Mustang I've owned in my lifetime, had a '91 Fox Body LX with the 5.0 and a 93 Fox Body LX 5.0L. I had bought both of them new, when I was in the Military and I was a few decades younger.

My '91 (Lt Crystal Blue) was bone stock but the Red '93 I did a WHOLE LOT of work to, just about every bolt-on mod under the sun, short of forced induction & suspension work. Even did a transmission swap (From the stock T5 to a 5 Speed Tremec) and changed out the rear end gears (from stock 2.73's to 3.55's)

So, this isn't my first rodeo per say - but man, these cars have come a LONG WAY in the last 32 years, let me tell you.

I never thought I would own another Mustang and never had plans on getting one, but when my wife got a 50th anniversary edition, 2015 GT Premium Coupe 5.0L (6 speed) and I drove it (while teaching her how to drive a stick) I was hooked again.

There was a time when I knew a lot about these cars - but that was a whole lot of years ago, so, I'm looking forward to learning from you guys, who are really up on what these 2015-2023 Gen 6's are all about.

Thanks for reading this & I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you.

Hey, I'm J.C. 2016 GT/CS, auto. Shaker audio, all of the bells and whistles. 61k miles on it when I got it. No mods at all when I got it, H pipe is on, tune and axle backs soon. Lowering springs and stiffing components going on next. I've had a ton of fox body's, and a 2012 coyote mustang. My other ride is a 2015 F-150 5.0 with some bolt on's and 268k miles on the clock.

OK, I’ll bite . . . First time mustang owner at age 60 – it’s like being a child all over again! Was a nerd in high school and then Camry’s and Sienna’s since. My 18 yr son bought a 2000 Mustang GT Auto (despite my efforts to push Camry) - so we co-own a mustang. Shortly thereafter he took out a fire hydrant and totaled it (20 to 30 ft geyser, flooding a lane of traffic, air bags deployed – quite the scene. Car directly under the geyser and he and I soaked retrieving items. He was devastated. Fortunately no one hurt – but a life lesson for new Mustang owners that we took to heart. Insurance came through spectacularly and able to upgrade to a 2008 (also co-owned) .

He found a beautiful candy apple red 2008 GT V8 manual (California Special) – I tried to talk him out of a manual it but his heart was set. I drove manual tractors and pickups as a kid – and just enough skill to get it home (multiple stalls). The 2008 (S197) stalls much easier compared to S550 – nerve-wracking 40 mile trip. I taught him the basics but he was hugely disappointed and almost gave up (couldn’t consistently start without stalling) . . . but the car kept beckoning . . . and he finally caught on . . . he now drives like a frkn pro and every one knows when he is coming and going (car came lowered with LOUD exhaust).

Meanwhile i was now hooked. . . so bought on a whim a 2017 Mustang GT manual (shadow black) with performance package, 17K miles and LOUD after market exhaust. Experienced raised to a whole new level! –sound/power is insanely addictive – needs a red warning label like opioids! Put on 20K miles in little over a year. Crappy MT82 clunky and took it as personal challenge to make it perform -- learned old school double clutch (up and down) to rev match engine to tranny input, and tranny to drive, and heel and toe (remember Nerd). Can’t bang gears with stock MT82, but can do relatively quick double clutch shifts up and down with perfect engagement including the troublesome 2nd and 3rd, even at redline. Took it up Leavenworth St and Larkin St to Lombard St in San Francisco (from North Point side), with full stop at the steepest grades and heel and toe starts with no roll back and no parking brake. Anyone who knows SF can appreciate.

So my other 21 yr old learns manual from us and finally decides to get his license wants a manual too. I try and steer him to a Miata and then a Toyota GR86 (to save gas and avoid younger son’s experience). We visit a local Toyota dealership in Sunnyvale and pick out a GR86 manual, but scooped by another buyer. So we wander the lot and see a beautiful 2015 Mustang GT in mint condition that really stands out amidst a sea of Toyotas – 21K miles, and definitely something special about it – Wimbledon white with louvered rear quarter windows. We see 50 yr badge on the back and search google to see if it has the performance pack. (We previously test drove a 2021 GT and we did NOT like it (had longer gears, no 3.73, and no brembos - missing the "pop" on acceleration), so PP was a must. Nothing about PP on sticker for the 2015, but web search suggested that it had it, but still a nagging doubt. Took for a test drive and it felt just like my 2017, so SOLD, and a third Mustang enters the stable (co-owned with my other son).

Still a nagging doubt about the PP though -- woke up in the middle of night on day of purchase and started more web searching. Realized there is 50yr limited and 50 yr appearance -- only the limited is rare and comes std with PP. Thought I might have gotten the 50 yr appearance. So obsessed that I got up middle of the night barefoot to check for the build number on dash- there it was! So a true limited with PP and almost all premium features! Was ecstatic! Typed in the build number into Mustang6g and found the original owner and able to connect! Fabulous car can clearly the favorite of the 3! Bottom line, we now have 3 amazing mustangs, and that is despite my bad advice!

Hi from Texas. Picked up a 2020 twin turbo GT and drove it home (Dallas to Amarillo) what a beast!

Beautiful ride, best of luck with it.

I'm curious - how much did it run you @Flubuyu2! ?

Under $50K. We are fortunate to have a bunch of cars (very understanding wife), however, the last stick shift left years ago...this one fit the bill...finally a manual in the stable!

Hey everyone, first time poster but have been reading for a good while now.

2019 GT 6MT owner here. Hope to share some of my build progress as time goes on. So far I have an RTR grille with lights, Roush H pipe, NXT performance axle back, dark horse style spoiler, and a set of BBS LM’s waiting for their moment to go on the car. But for now, I will include a photo of the test fit from when I bought them. And yes, I will indeed change the tires they came with to look better.
