Aloha from Everett, WA!

Long time lurker, finally decided to join.

Never had a Mustang, but have always had a Ford. First rig was a 77 F-250, then a jacked up 90 Bronco 2. Drove an 08 F-150 SCAB FX4 off the lot in 07 at age 20, still kicking ass at 105,000 miles.

Planned on getting a 15 mustang but meeting an amazing woman kinda set me back - maybe a 16 or 17 now. Hope y'all have a great day.

Wookie

Hello forum.

45 year old Floridian transplanted to Houston Texas here. Been am admirer of Mustang since I was a kid. My first car was a 1971 Mustang Coupe with a 351CI Cleveland motor in it. I have had many cars since then, some cool some.....not so cool. Check out my signature for some of the highlights. I am not a fan boy of any manufacture, they all have their merits but I tend to like American cars most (though I admit that doesn't really mean much any more) Now that I am tired of the bland mini-van/SUV/crossover thing and am currently driving I think I am ready for something a little more exciting. If money was no object I would get a Caddilac CTS-V Wagon. Those cars are simply too bad-ass. Easily the best car I ever owned was that '07 CTS-V. Unfortunately I don't have $50-70k to throw around on cars anymore. Now that the new 'Stangs are only a few months away maybe it is time to reacquaint with my first automotive passion.

Not sure which Mustang I will be looking for. I guess that is why I am here, but for the moment the turbo-4 coupe, well equipped and a stick shift is catching my eye.

Anyways, see everyone around the forums.

Hello M6G!

Great site you have here, I've noticed that you all seem to have all of the bleeding edge news on the S550 even being quoted in the "professional" car rags blogs like Car & Driver, etc. I'm seriously considering snagging a 2015 ecoboost car as my next daily driver so I figured this was the best place to come and get immersed in the latest news and views.

Currently living in Houston, TX for the last three years but lived 25+ in St. Louis, MO previously. Current vehicles are a 2001 Jeep Cherokke ( XJ ) w/ a 3" lift & 32" tires that gets a paltry 15 mpg on a good day. My project car is a 2001 Cobra which I am slowly turning into an auto-x / open track car. The plan is to replace the Jeep w/ an 2015 eco-Stang w/ track pack and Recaros.

I realize I never introduced myself. I'm Dave. Been a huge fan of Mustangs since I got my one and only a Fox Body 93 GT back in HS. Here it was in the late 90s:

I regret selling the car to this day but would like to own a Fox again someday. Have followed the car in each generation since and look forward to checking out lots of S550s as soon as they hit the road in September. I haven't been this excited since the 2005 S197 debuted.

new member...potential new owner

Hi Everyone,

I just joined today but have been on the site reading through the forums and getting all the latest updates on the upcoming Mustang for a while now. This seems like the perfect place for the 6th generation Mustang which I'm very interested in. Currently I drive a 2011 Mitsubishi Lancer GTS and have always had a love for the Mustang. Ford always holds a place in my heart as my first car was a 92 Ford Tempo which I loved. Sadly over the years I never got the chance to own a Mustang but I'll be in the market for a new car in the next year or so and I'm seriously considering an Ecoboost model with automatic and performance package.

I'm hoping that someone comes out with a shifter for the automatic that lets you change gears using the shifter itself instead of the paddles. I know it may sound weird but I've got paddles on my current car and hate it, I've also tried them on a 2013 Charger Daytona edition and can't seem to get used to using them. I always go back to the shifter itself and have a blast with it.

Anyways, like I said I'm glad to be here and can't to learn more about the new Mustang and hopefully own one some day!

My name is Phil and I'm from NJ. I have lurked on this site for quite a while and actually work for Ford. I was impressed by all of the information that this site has. If any one has any questions I would be glad to help out. I think the 6th gen has endless possibilities and is going to surprise everyone especially when it comes to aftermarket potential. This car is one of those situations where numbers alone don't tell the whole story. I also build and race my cars in the spare time.

Welcome to the site guys!

Hey Phil/PonyPower - have you gotten to drive the S550? Always great to see Ford employees on here... you in Dearborn or work out of NJ?

I'm in Middlesex county but I travel all over. If you go to car meets or Englishtown you will probably see me around.

Thanks, I work out of NJ. I haven't driven one yet sadly, but I will likely be the one test driving all the different ones in the beginning including the Limited Edition when it comes in. :D

Hi everyone. Sean from Phoenix, AZ. Love my Boss 302 and was looking forward to the S550 until the videos of the '16 SVT hit the net. I guess I can bite my tongue another year.

I'm really looking forward to seeing all the new 'Stangs on the streets!

Hello everyone!

Jason here from the SF bay area. I have been reading this forum for some time and I have finally decided to join. I have owned several mustangs in my time and I am still a young guy! lol

Some of the mustangs I have owned over the years have been a 1966 Mustang with a 302, 1967 Fastback, 1967 Tubbed Coupe (mid 10s 1/4 mile) and a 2007 GT Mustang. I will be getting back saddle again and ordering a 2015 GT Mustang this coming week.

I am really excited to contribute and be part of this amazing community here!

Hello to everyone from Canada.

Originally from Germany, I arrived 2005 in Canada and was in 02/2012 shopping for a convertible. ;-) First checking out a Audi A4 what was advertised as in "showroom" condition at a Outlet car dealer. The Audi looked horrible! Already disappointed because I drove 45 minutes to checkout this car, I saw a convertible S197 V6 in the showroom and thought it was a brand new Mustang. Absolutely clean. So I asked the milage on that car and we figured out it had only 31,000 km /19,xxx miles on it! I bought her for $16,500 including a 4 year warranty. She is white and a base model. Later I bought white leather seat covers with black faces to match the white/black style. Got a set of 17" 100 spoke wheels for her six month later. Btw. There is still the sticker from the factory on the engine. 25. FEB 2005. :-)

So I am looking to get the S550 as a DD . V6 or a EcoBoost? No idea yet. But I need a automatic transmission because I had a work related accident in January and my left hand/arm won't work like they should anymore. But the S550 without leather? (V6!) No way!

I am glad to get all your wonderful knowledge as a "shopping guide" here. Because the dealers around Edmonton / Alberta have no details about anything what doesn't makes it easy for me. Thanks a lot guys.

Found this forum by searching for info on the 2015 Ford Mustang. After work today, I intend to put a deposit down on a Mustang GT. I desire a stripped down version because I'll likely purchase aftermarket parts to better suite my desires when they come available.

2015 Mustang GT
Magnetic Metallic
6 speed manual
Recaro seats
3.55 limited slip

I've never had the opportunity to play with a new or newer car and am pretty excited. Current projects are:

1996 Ford Mustang
2.5 (Lima based) 4 cylinder with a Volvo B234F cylinder head
TKO-500
Previous combo ran a best of 12.10 @ 114 mph. Expect this combo to pick up ~100 - 150 hp over the previous combo. It's possible/likely this car will be sold when I buy the new Mustang, though.

2003 Ford F150 Supercrew
547 BBF
Garrett 98 mm mid-mounted turbocharger
This pic shows a carb, but I've switched to EFI.

Have a good day!
Michael

Ordered 2015 GT basic DIB, Recaros, Performance package. Bare bones, hard driving track car/ East TN corner carver. Owned an 88 GT with a bunch of mods, SVT Focus, etc. Sold a Factory Five Cobra Daytona Coupe that I built to purchase the 2015 GT.
