Hey everyone!

Yup, the new guy here. Just picked up my first mustang in 20 years. The last on I owned was a 1990 LX 5.0 fox body. Yep guess I'm old lol.

Between that time I've owned some skylines and WRX JDM stuff as I lived in Japan for quite a while and once returning to the US I got into the LS crowed and begin buying. Chevy stuff.

My last ride was a 2015 1LE Camaro SS. Unfortunately, with less than 5k miles on it, a person decided to make a turn across traffic. Guy turned thinking all four lanes of traffic were clear as this bus turned....never knowing I was hidden from his view by the turning bus! Oh well, such is life (and south Florida traffic)

I was very interested in the new 1LE but after a trip to the Chevy dealer I concluded I do not like the look of the new monstrosity that Chevy calls a Camaro! Performance was amazing in just the vinilla SS with magride and big brakes but man the thing is UGLY!

Well here I am with a race red 2017 GT PP, handling wise I am not that impressed but I love the looks and like the performance is fine with me and on par with my 5gen.

I look forward to learning a lot from you all as I begin to mod the crap out of this thing. Thanks for taking the time to read this far...and now some pics!

New here, but not new to Mustangs. Bought my first almost 40 years ago, a red 1968. Finally found a good deal on a Race Red 2015 Ecoboost premium pack, and I'm back in the saddle. Been driving a 2001 Miata LS for the past 14 years, so I had to have a good replacement.

Hi everyone,

Jerry

My current ride, a 2012 MINI Cooper S w/ stick. Not bad, but not a sports car.

Before that, a 2003 BMW 330 Ci w/ stick, sports package. A fun ride.

Before that, wife's hand-me-down Honda Accord. Crappy brakes.

Before that, a 1992 Ford Explorer, stick. With the stick you could not put a drink in the cup right cupholder, or you had to live w/o 4th gear.

In grad school, I had a freebie 1972 Plymouth Sport Fury. That car taught me how to parallel park.

Back in high school, an old 1967 MGBGT. Nice ride:

Just picked up my new 16 GT Premium...

It's at the dealership getting a Roush Phase 1 installed.

I last owned a Mustang in 77, a red 69 Mach 1 with an FMX trans and a 351 Windsor and a bunch of stuff that got me into trouble.

That was a lot of years ago... hopefully I've wised up.

But I've been away from Mustangs for a long time now, so I expect to be here a lot.

Hi my name is George, I'm new to the forum and Mustang family. I saw the 16 GT mustang and had to have one. Love the body style and enjoy driving it on the weekends when weather permits. I received my 16 GT Premium, Manual Transmission in June and have since done engine and body mods. Pro Charger installation soon.

Hi All,
SoFloEco here. I chose this name because I intended, 2 years ago, to purchase an EcoBoost Mustang, but instead came home with a Focus ST, so the name still applied.

Well, I have since seen the light and purchased, just last Friday, this 2017 Grabber Blue beauty. Hope to be chatting wih many of you soon.

Just introducing myself(Update)

Hello. I'm Nick. I am a brand new member. I joined to learn more about the mustang. Here is my story in a few sentences.

I had purchased the 15 VW Golf TDI in August of 2015. Purchased at the perfect time as you'll come to see. Loved the gas mileage, but it obviously lacked power. So i sold and upgraded to the GTI. I have been in it since late April. (Just found out i am due a settlement of about 3k due to diesel-gate, even though I sold it already.) Now upon having this car, it still seems too weak for my tastes. So I looked into a more powerful car. I looked at the Golf R, Subaru STI, and now I'm looking at the mustang GT and 350. I have been mesmerized by the new mustangs but never really considered owning one. The grunt and muscle of the exhaust really is what changed my mind. The Golf R and GTI are so refined and subtle that I'm constantly wishing for more "soul". So I test drove a GT yesterday. I was impressed by the technology and look to the interior. The GTI interior is very nice, and this takes it up a notch i think. I was only able to run the engine to 3k due to traffic so that may be the reason why it also seemed restricted. Seats were comfortable. Now I also love the 350, but is an extra 30k really worth it. The main reason I am attracted to a 350 is I don't like to drive what every one else is. I'd like to be unique and I think the 350 fits that bill.

So that's me in a nutshell and why i am here. Hope to learn a little from you gents.

STI - wouldn't waste your money. Dated ass, unreliable EJ engine. I won't touch an STi until the next generation, assuming they update it to the new FA or similar engine. It would be nice to see a FA 2.3 or something. If they want to compete with the RS they will need more power.

I was considering a EVO, Camaro and the Mustang since they were all in the price bracket, kind of. EVO after thinking about it is just super dated. The interior is HORRIBLE, the engine is OLD as well and overall I just don't think they are worth the price dealers are asking. You have to spend a fair amount of money to get them into what I would consider "fast" power. The Camaro is a better car on paper for performance but overall I didn't feel like I was losing a lot after driving that and stepping into the Mustang. The Mustang GT is possibly the best bang for your buck car in the sub 30's IMO. The potential for modding is just way greater than most other cars in it's range.

A modded GT will give you just as much pleasure as a GT350 will if you plan on just driving it on the roads. Not that the GT350 isn't an awesome car but the price gap between the two are huge depending on how you want to use it.

I just came from a fairly quick WRX and honestly haven't lost sleep over it one bit. Maybe during the colder weather but I think I'm just going to find an older Subaru to beat on for that.

My Mustang, even though you see more on the road, gets 5x more attention and compliments than my WRX did, which was a nice, clean car in itself. They are just great looking cars and the drivability is quite fun. I finally got to take it up on the mountain with 4 other Subaru friends and I had no problem running or outrunning them on the turns with the Mustang.

WOW! Congrats! love the Magnetic Color. Did you have the window tint at the dealership? Also, what wheels did you go with? the standard 18"?

Nice. What did you like and/or not like about the Focus ST? I started looking at the Focus ST and the RS, but ending up ordering a Mustang.
