Hey everyone, figured I’d finally introduce myself.

Name’s Stephen, checking in from Cleveland, Ohio.
I’m currently driving a sixth-gen Mustang GT and loving it. I’ve been keeping an eye on all the next-gen Mustang talk, but honestly the S550 still checks all the boxes for me. I do get a little nervous about Ford drifting too far from the classic Mustang look, but they’ve been doing a great job with styling lately, so I’m hopeful.
Glad to be here and looking forward to learning more, sharing info, and checking out everyone’s builds.

Hey everyone, new guy here who is new to Mustang ownership after a long, long run of owning Camaros and Firebirds (7 in total over 20 years). My wife and I rented a 2025 Ecoboost while on vacation in June and instantly fell in love with it. Since then, we've been causally looking for one when this 2022 Ecoboost Premium Convertible popped up locally. We had a pretty hefty checklist of things we wanted from the car and didn't want to just settle on a compromise. This one checked off all the boxes other than being an S650 (which we knew would never fit our very limited budget).

Thanks. Obviously I'm not exactly biased. I can appreciate a good car from either side. Both have their good and their bad. As far as the interior, it's basically mint. I can't find any real flaws other than some deep scratches in the sill panels and the floor mats are missing, but really, it's got 66,000 miles on it and was a former rental car... I expect some wear and tear like that. The Hyundai Elantra GT Sport we traded in for this had more interior damage than this Mustang will ever see. Previous owner of the Elantra had a large dog of some sort based on the scratches to the rear seat door panels and the chew mark on the key fob. Overall, we are super happy with the trade up. Once we run our course with this one, we hope to trade up once again and get a GT.

Yeah the Ecoboost is a great bang for a buck and damn quick too! I'd keep it for a long time if I were you. That 2.3 turbo puts out more HP and torque than the 96-98 SVT Cobras 4.6 DOHC, which were considered the ultimate Mustang performance at that time. Also, all pre-2011 stock V6 Mustangs seemed to be underpowered and nowhere fun to drive as today's Ecoboost. The S197 4.0 was a disappointment and didn't seem any better than the SN95's 3.8.

Oh, when I say trade up... I mean with either an S550 or S650 GT, and that would probably be 5 or 6 years from now when this one is paid off, so mostly likely a used S650 GT at that point. And trust me, I know all about how strong this little 4 banger is compared to the best of yester-year. My poor 1996 Z28 had a whopping 275hp and was considered a "fast" car in it's time, which compared to current vehicles, matches up with most family sedans.

OTOH I purposefully hunted down a V6 S550 and have been tickled to bits at how fun it has been to own. I sold a Challenger Hellcat during the pandemic (+$20K profit) and the Mustang has been superior in handling and that is greater than giving up all of that power.

Now I'm mulling over all of the suspension upgrade options that I have, it's great to have so many choices available on this platform but also overwhelming!

I'm Michael Sheets I've been driving Mustangs most of my life. I bought my first car when I was 16 from a neighbor. It was a '76 brown Mustang II. In my single years I had a very fast 302 with a 300hp bottle. Then wife, then kids, I put the toys aside.

I haven't had one for the past 12 years. I drove the yellow one pictured in the photo a 2013 C/S it was my son's friend's car. It stayed in the back of my head. I was looking for a '71 Mach 1 but it would have been a big project car. Then I seen a '22 test drove it and then a '24. I was blown away with the cars. I didn't like the '24 as much as I liked the '22. Then when I seen the car I have now. I test drove it and had to have it. Got it for a great price. Plans are for the GT350R brake upgrade kit, upgrade wheels and tires and Wipple supercharger.​

Welcome - and great looking Stang. The black accent package looks good on the gray. I like those wheels on that package. I would have kept mine on except for the desire to go wider.

I have a 2020 Ecoboost coupe as my work car. It ruined me. After 4 months of possession, I bought my 2021 GT Vert' GT/CS. I love them both, for different reasons but both are entertaining and fun.

New here but a longtime lurker. 2021 GT original owner bought it in 2020. Feel weird posting, but I wanted to browse the projects/builds/part reviews so on and if I ever have a question I need an account to post. I don't take a lot of pictures of my cars so I am sharing one a photographer took recently when I was driving on a local mountain. Flagged me down on my way back. Otherwise I have not personally taken a photo of it since 2024. I'm just different I guess. I do have some videos of it, but even those feel odd sharing online. I'm not really into the whole internet opinions, criticism, drama loop that comes with sharing things. It's not like it was 20-30+ years ago when people seemed less toxic?

I've done a lot to the car; supercharged, tuned, suspension, bracing ... I don't really consider myself a car person or really into Mustangs (no offense meant). I am a driving enthusiast though and the S550 has been one of my favorite car platforms to build out of 30 years of driving & building cars. Oddly enough the S550 reminds me of when I first fell in love with the Nissan 240sx in the 90s granted it (the S550) is a heavier car for sure, but with the proper modifications, suspension tuning and such I've found it to make a wonderful Mountain / Canyon carver. That's literally all I use the car for.

Attached a photo and video of the car. I'm not great at videos either just make them mainly for myself, memories, and evaluating roads my habits etc.

New here ,just wanted to say that I am enjoying the forum, always good information, alot to learn! I just purchased a used 2017 mustang v6 as " project/ something to do" for the winter . It's a really nice car for the price, made a few cosmetic changes, spent a great deal of time polishing, buffing, cleaning, etc, now looking forward to driving it, probably putting it up for sale in the spring , maybe someone else will enjoy it and I will look for another one. I've always been into cars, owned too many to list, but this was 1st mustang since 2003 mustang ( wife bought it, was a money pit,sold it for jeep). Not alot to read here yet on the v6, but I will say that I was very pleased with the way it drove when I picked it up and drove home a few weeks ago ( before big snow and freeze hit, Ohio). OK, I've rambled on enough for now but i will attach a few photos and say,thank you all for the forum.

Love the video! It's that late night sort of calm that I enjoy just driving around. Wife definitely doesn't get it...
