I don't think the recaros need to be heated or cooled.... If they improve the standard seats feel as much as they look improved I think they will do just fine.

Which BMWs offer heated or cooled Recaros? I didn't think there were any.

The freaking Focus ST has heated Recaros. There is no excuse for this not to be available on 2015 Mustang Recaros.

I believe you are saying that if Ford improved the feel of the standard seats as much as they improved their look, the standard seats would do just fine?

I'm a little torn on this. As a trackaholic, I would consider it mandatory to get the raciest seat possible, as that is a huge factor when trying to control the car. If you are fighting to stay in your seat you will have a much harder time feeling what the car is doing. I'd therefore be going Recaro as a matter of principle.

I don't care for the heating, but the cooling might be nice. I also like having a touch of color on the interior, so hopefully the Recaros will be available in something other than just plain black.

Those standard seats (at least the ones with that "saddle" leather and the ones with the white leather) look very nice, and could possibly get me to stray from the Recaros if they are that good (eh, probably not). I typically go for cloth seats anyway, as they provide better grip when cornering, and tend to do a better job with temperature fluctuations. I like how the C7 Vette has an option for microfiber seating surfaces, which are probably pretty grippy. I wonder if the Mustang will do something similar, or if the Recaros are already good enough that it isn't necessary.

I didn't say that they did, I just referred to competing with them. They might not be Recaro's but BMW does offer heating and cooling in their upgrade sport seats.

Someone else posted this in another thread....

This color combo looks like a winner and it goes well with the aluminum dash.
I can't wait to see this in person.

Gotcha. I was just asking, since I follow BMW mostly and hadn't heard of them. AFAIK they aren't cooled in the BMW Performance Seats either.

I do think this new Mustang is out-competing BMW in a lot of ways BMW fans have been asking for though. I was following the 2 series but its not a consideration with how this new stang has stepped up. I hope there is another awesome saddle interior like in the previous mustang.

Agreed.

The M235i is on my radar, as well as the S550, reviews are showing up for the M235i, I will have a hard time choosing my next ride.

Ahh BMW continues to disappoint. I've been following the M235i as well, but for a 174" car, it's 3550 lb (MT estimated) -- and of course, it comes with an equally bloated price close to $45K. For me, the S550 is still the front runner provided they can eliminate some weight.

Can you price it at $45k or is that base MSRP? I know Mercedes puts a minimum option trim level(navi, heated seats...) for the US market where a base model might be $40k but you can't find one on a showroom floor for less than $51k. At least with the Mustang being an American car the US market seems to get more freedom with the level of options.

The M235i Loaded is around $55K MSRP With LSD, $52K W/O LSD, can be had for around invoice + $100-$500. I'm guessing the S550, loaded, should be around $45K-$50K MSRP-->

The cheapest M235i build I could make was with a vinyl (or whatever plastic they use) interior called Sensatec (no cloth!?), white exterior (all other colors add $500), and sadly I don't get a discount when selecting manual transmission. The total with transport was $44025, base MSRP is $43100. The way the base is optioned is very limiting and a huge turn off in addition to the weight.

So a 'base' M235i for about the same price as a fully loaded S550 GT? I know what I would choose...

I have doubts you would be able to get a GT optioned anywhere near $50k, unless you load up every single dealer added accessory and then some. I can see $45k but not much more.
