I'm installing long tube headers and am having an issue removing the passenger side very front bolt on the stock manifold. I can't get a socket on it from underneath because the ac line is like right there. It seems the only way to remove it would be from under the hood but I can't get a wrench or anything on it with enough leverage to break it loose.

Anybody have any tips on getting this one removed?

You need a swivel head ratchet wrench, from the top.

Racheting flex head wrenches ftw. Just takes patience. You can try jacking the motor up to get more room.

Yeah, that one you get from up top. Stand in front of the car by the passenger headlight and go in from there. At this point, you should have the passenger motor mount off but driver's side still attached. Jack the motor up from underneath and it will pivot up for more room. Be very careful not to go too high because the IMRC connectors/plugs on the back of the intake manifold will hit the firewall and possibly break off.

I just did this install a week ago and with a flex head wrench I got that nut off in literally 30 seconds. I was worried because others have said it was a PITA.

Got the tool and was able to get the nut off fairly quickly. Thanks for all the help.

I was able to get it off with a standard ratchet wrench. Battery tray removal also makes getting pass side nuts off as well.
