I have seen some sets of header bolts that come with a thread lock compound on them. Anyone use Loctite or similar when doing the install ?

I wouldn’t put anything additional on them. Access in there sucks and trying to remove a bolt with loctite could potentially be real bad.

I reused as many original studs as I could, I think I had to use one bolt on my ARH headers. No loctite and none have loosened up in 30k miles and ~30 track days.

Like @thelostotter I tried to use as many OEM studs and nuts as possible when I did my TSP headers. I had to use three bolts along the top of the passenger side due to clearance, and there was nothing on the threads when I put them in. I also experienced no loosening of the bolts in 20k miles.

I did routinely check the bolts to make sure there were no issues and they were always tight. My suggestion is to use no thread locking compound on any bolts you may have to use. I’d advise using as many studs and nuts as possible, but fyi the manual says they are one time use. I’m particular about those kinda things and I’ve replaced them all every time I’ve gone in there and messed with them. I also suggest you use a thread cleaning tool along with brake cleaner on the threads in the cylinder head before you install any new studs or bolts.
