Installing ARH headers

About to install ARH direct connect catless headers this Monday. Anything I need to know outside of the CJPP video? Any tips or tricks? Anyone have torque specs on the starter, header bolts, motor mount, etc?

It has been said before and I have confirmed it when I installed headers too...

• ratchet wrenches are your friend
• no need to remove passenger motor mount from frame rail (cj's video does this:shrug
• reuse the factory manifold gaskets...they are just fine
• check clearance of the primary tubes on the passenger side to the frame. Adjust motor as necessary.
• ratchet wrenches are your friend
• and last but not least, ratchet wrenches are your friend

I would reuse as many studs as possible as well. I would also buy a swivel end ratchet wrench for the front bolt on the passenger side. If it is a PP car with the Kbrace beside you don't jack the engine up till it hits the brace because it can damage the intake.

Take everything off to give you more room. Battery and battery frame piece, strut bar and k brace, etc
It's tight enough, don't try to cut corners or save time. Just take everything off for the extra space it may provide

This. Remove the AC line too it makes it easier.,

You could do that but I really only had trouble with the one bolt behind the ac line. I was on a lift though.

i'll have a 4 day weekend to knock this out, i appreciate everyone's assistance here.

i'm hoping i don't have to remove all of that extra stuff, battery, k brace, ac line, etc... popping all that off takes about 10-15 mins right? on the back end would you save 10-15 mins or more?

i've budgeted about 10 hours for the install on jack stands, the only thing that worries me is the motor mounts and the header hitting that dumb AC bolt/bracket causing false knock

I didn't remove my k brace and battery but in retrospect I wish I would have as it would have made it much easier. I broke the AC line trying to get to the bolt by it so I would remove the AC line if possible.

by removing the AC line do you have to evacuate the system? or do you mean remove it from its current location. as a baseline i haven't actually physically looked at where i'll be working at, so i may ask a dumb question or two

You have to evacuate the system. You could unbolt the mounts and attempt to move it over but it's hard line so it doesn't give much in the direction you need it to.

The AC line is only in the way for one bolt. It will not be that bad with the right wrench.

Remove battery box, won't need to fiddle with AC line.
