Looking good!
I have the same placement with mine. I have it as close to the mirror as possible so the shade almost fits. The passenger visor can hold the shade but after seeing this I think I will go ahead and notch the shade as well.

I have a Valentine One, G2. That mounting bracket can be adjusted so that the detector fits snugly against the bottom side of the mirror. It is much less conspicuous that way.

Previously in my Escape….this is why the bracket is the way it is, it used to be even longer….tempted to do this again if the mirror stem has room for doubles.

Where do you tie the power into? Been thinking about this.

Had two Valentines for decades. Works fine in the floor, or via suction cups (so they can be taken off in a flash). Mounting them is an invitation for theft.

If you have the standard auto dimming miror, two pins on the connector at the rear of the mirror I can't remember which, but there's a post or two on here - if you have the frame less mirror with the plastic cover on the windshield, covering all the cameras and sensors for lane keeping and what not, it is also pretty easy - connector on the RH side, has four or five pins, only three are active, it's the bottom pin for hot, skip one, middle is ground. Mirror tap, or you can make your own out of a standard RJ11 phone connector.

My car has the camera, etc behind the mirror. I mounted my V1 with it's suction cups to the left of the rear view mirror...as high as the V1 would go. I use a small RJ11 pigtail with an in-line connector double face taped to the very top of the windshield, hardwired to the fire panel. I can post a pic if wanted.

When the V1 is removed, all that remains is the connector.

In my former SHO, and in the Excursion and Utility, the V1 is above the rear view mirror.
