Forgestar wheels and 3 tires (probably can't get all 4).
$1600 for the wheels, $900 installed (rebate in the mail too) for some Firestone Firehawk Indy 500's. It can be done!

Steeda clutch spring for $35 helps out the clutch feel quite a bit and is a lot easier than some of the other shifter mods.
Going quite literal on the “throw away” fund there considering his car doesn’t have a clutch pedal.

Exhaust shop to remove resonators maybe even the secondary catalytic converters (as long as it doesn’t throw a code). I did that with my car for cabin heat cause by the secondary cats. Doesn’t throw a code or CEL because the sensor is after the first cats, meaning anything after doesn’t matter.

Intake - mostly a waste of money

I think the consensus is tune, wheels/tires, & suspension.

Notice I said intake AND tune.

I bet just an intake would free up some HP on your V6 Explorer.

I'm surprised at the WIDE array of answers.

I thought I'd see more of this:

Intake
Tune
Cat-back
Shifter
..Then suspension

That's what I did. Completely changed my ride from the factory vibe.

"Bro, how giant of a wing can I get for $3000?"
Yes let's add power before doing anything to help it handle power it has, let alone more. Good call. The thought process is a good way to end up on cars and coffee videos.

BMacIL don’t forget about that sweet MGW shifter people are recommending for those crisp P to D shifts.

you took a year to save 3k, IMO you should use this money to invest in yourself so you can make more money. That way in the near future you will be able to buy anything you want.
This.

Wow guys thank you for all the insightful answers. I actually use my car for work believe it or not. I haul around some high end products to people in rich coastal towns. So i just happen to be driving on some of the best back roads there are.

With that being said I'm think the suspension mods is what I'm leaning towards . I drive some very windy roads and keeping it tight in corners is such a good feeling.

Oh and to those of you that thought i managed to work a whole year and only save 3k well that's cute lol. This 3k is pure piss away money for a vehicle that has made me much more than that.
