After enduring 50 east coast and midwest winters, one more brutal than the other, I couldn't take it anymore and moved to Florida.

Can't do much outside from October to March up there, its insane, I was getting really bad cabin fever, how people continue to do it is beyond me.

That's how I met my wife, she couldn't take another PA winter, her family had vacationed in FL for years (so she knew it and liked it), we hired her when we had an opening for a project manager :D

Yes, holy shit, those kind of winters are rough on people, cars, I'm not sure how people do it. I've been in plenty of cold/snow for trips, but couldn't imagine doing it for months.

The older I get the more I dislike winter but I'm still driving mine in Chicago, even had the top down last weekend. What it does do is really make you appreciate the nice days even more. Its even worse having vintage muscle car sitting in the garage, Sometimes you just go look at it. But my cure is to just drive it. Even some of the most expensive collectibles today were driven hard when new. I'm not saying don't take care of it but heck, they were made to be driven. So I drive mine. The Mustang will be driven all year but not in snow, the vintage cars I drive until the first snow and then come back out after a couple of rains to clean the salt off the road.

Heck, if it is nice enough I even use the cars for what they used to be used for.

I would never park my Mustang for months at a time....nor would I have to. I live in Minneapolis so we are quite accustomed to snow, freezing rain and salt on the roads. My Mustang has never been exposed to any of that. However, there are still plenty of winter days where the roads are 100% dry and I give the Mustang some exercise. The forecast is actually looking good for the weekend before Christmas. We are going to Iowa to visit family and I may be able to take the Mustang unless the forecast changes.

We don't get much snow and ice, so can I drive year round. When we do get a storm no one goes anywhere. I don't care what tires you have, snow, ice, steep hills and cars don't mix well.

I hate winter because it's cold, and we don't drive the Jeep, which hasn't had the top or doors on it for years now.

Snow doesn't bother me. But, salt and traffic do. I put my "good" car away for the winter. I have been fortunate for the last couple of years in that it has been cold, but we haven't had snow until January. So, winter has been fairly short. I only drive the "good" car about 2000 miles a year anyway. This year the Mustang is my "good" car. Who knows what it will be next year.
