Update.

turns out I had a $500 deductible on my glass which I overlooked til now. Oem is 1k give or take. Aftermarket is 500. Its highly likely that I will run into more pebbles down the road. I’m undecided. Thoughts on aftermarket vs oem appreciated.
Depends on where the aftermarket windshield is coming from, and if it was made to any kind of standards.
When I had a choice between a $300 OEM windshield and a $150 windshield, I asked the vendor to find out why one cost only $150.
They got back to me and said the $150 windshield was from Mexico,
and wasn't safety glass.

This is when you go "Hell yes, I'll pay double for OEM".

Aftermarket glass pretty much guaranteed to be not as quiet as the sound screen one we get OEM. That plus a million other reasons I'd only go OEM. Especially if you have any of the radar cruise stuff.

This was my OEM windshield replacement a few months ago, done by safelite in central Florida. Insurance covered so it was $0 for me but they paid $1032. They did an excellent job though, you would never know it was replaced, they also cleaned all glass inside and out, vacuumed the front carpet and wiped down the whole dash … I drive with the windows down a lot, along with autox and track days so it was immediately noticeable how clean the interior was. 😃

It's actually quite the same here, we have a lot of underpaid and overstressed box truck drivers that just ignore the little city car on their left when changing lanes. Only thing you can do is SLAM on the brakes.
Also, they spend a lot of time on the center lane to overtake 1 km/h at a time another slightly slower truck.

But I must say usually they are from western Europe and are heavily exploited by their employers, I can't really blame them they are already enduring enough. I know a few local truck drivers and I have a great deal of respect for them, they are nice and attentive people and the work is really hard. Also the condition of the trucks varies by the country on the license plate.
Took a road trip from UT to TN and back and there are good semi-truck drivers and poor ones (just like any others on the road). I'm not sure if these truckers have governors that prevent them from going over 70 mph or so but they do take a while to pass another semi-truck. But I did have one pull out in front of me to pass another truck and I think he finally saw me in the mirror so he pulled back behind the truck knowing I'd pass them both faster, which I did. Then he/she proceeded to pass the other truck. Yet, another semi-truck rig (wasn't pulling any trailers) began to supposedly pass another semi with a trailer and he stayed in the passing lane for probably 4-5 minutes going at the same speed after he got along side the other truck. Needless to say, I was getting upset because I knew he could go faster easily since he had no load to pull. Finally, he accelerated and passed the truck after a sign indicated that the lane ends in 1000 feet. I floored and passed him at about 90 mph (no, I was in a Honda, not my Mustang on that trip). I guess there are jerks driving rigs just as we have them driving regular cars and such.
