How's living with the HPs front splitter? I don't mean aerodynamics but the ground clearance.

It's pretty low. Even entering my drive at an angle I get a little bit of scraping. I measured it at less than 5in clearance and the tips are quite far forward of the front wheels. have not measured angle of attack yet and which race ramps I'll need for trailer loading but I have a few sizes already. In hindsight maybe should have had the dealer leave it uninstalled and do it myself later.

I remove it for now. I love the look but I don't think I can get in my drive. I wonder, if you hit it hard will the 20 some plastic rivets plus 8 bolts snap before taking off the other splitter?

I find I have to watch it when parking. Those parking guides and curbs are not uniform, so clearing one has no relation to the next one in a different lot. I creep into each space and if I feel resistance, I stop. Got a few scrapes on the bottom of my splitter. But, the car is meant to drive, so I can live with it.

I haven't scratched it at all on any speed bumps. I had one small scrape when I first got the car pulling into the driveway at an angle. I went up in ride height slightly from the PS4S tire swap and haven't scraped it since. The hardest part honestly is parking and not knowing exactly where your splitter is. I'm always generously a good 2 feet away from a curb when it feels like I'm on it.

Out of curiosity I did some quick measurements . Using the Race Ramp calculator I got the angle of approach to be about 11 deg. I compared to a 991 GT3 which is 9.5 deg or 12 deg with the front axle lift engaged. For me it should be liveable, although with some light scraping on the driveway.

I haven't looked is there a kit from ford to reinstall it? I need a rivet gun for the plastic rivets.

the plastic rivet gun from HF is the best for the job, works better then my Matco or spitznagel.

Actually states I believe in the owners manual I think that it should not exceed 11 degrees of pitch on any grade.

I like mine on and only scraped it one time attempting to back right into my driveway. Always go forward and at an angle now to start and no issues since.

Part number, you can google it, Ford uses these for mounting all kinds of things.

My HP lower splitter sits at 5 & 5/16”. I’m coming from a ’91 NSX that sits at 3 & 3/16”. So that extra 2 & 1/8” on the Mach1 is huge in terms of ground clearance which is 40% more than I’m use to. Sorry for the hijack of the thread as I just wanted to state on my perspective of low ground clearance. ( the tape measure body adds 2”, photo kinda blurred)

Thanks for the help. I picked up a rivet gun and some rivets at HF today so some day soon I will put the splitter back on.
