Yeah, it's good when you have the stock exhaust on. You will need to disable it though once you go with a louder system such as a race or competition one.

Hell,I wish I had more synth sound.i like it.
The problem is once you start upgrading the system with more powerful aftermarket amps and speakers the synthetic sound is just a horrible distorted mess. It just doesnt scale up well at all.

does the Ford Pro Cal tune really disable this? I have a really loud MBRP Race catback and it seems to have helped it a bit.....or maybe it's all in my head lol

Unplugging the mic on the rear headliner (if this is what you are referring to) definitely quiets it down a bit. This has been confirmed by several people. However the best way is to do it through FORScan (which I’ve done and I can confirm that it works), or through the method described by acull2000 above.

I bought myself the a module for the Forscan so will turn off the crappy synth when my exhaust finally goes on :) As the module is coming ex HK, I'll be able to report on the difference in drone if any :)

FraG be aware that you are not disabling the synth but rather the Active Noise Cancellation with this method. The fake engine noise is still there, but it won’t bother you at all, as your exhaust will be louder.

According to post 59 of this thread, GTs have a sound tube running from the intake to the firewall. That can be removed and capped off.

In any case, in the EcoBoost the ANC can be deactivated as described in the following post:

http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1668885&postcount=1196
Hmmm. That post says to change the digit from "A" (ANC enabled) to "8" (ANC disabled). This is different from other instructions I've seen saying to change the "A" to "0", which worked for my car.
