How many do not like the new SYNC 3 (v3.4) default display colors?

How many think the new SYNC 3 (v3.4) default display colors are a poor choice for both the regular (daylight) and dark mode settings?

I get the whole Corp. ideology “Ford = Blue” but the new default display colors are just horrible, especially the new Dark Mode settings.

Dark Mode should be “DARK”, like shades of only grays, blacks and white - not bright blue, which defeats the whole purpose of a dark mode setting.

We shouldn’t have to use other means (Forscan) to manually grab and change codes from other already available selectable colors found in other Ford/Lincoln product lines. We need/want default display colors that are actually better suited to one’s eyes.

@UofMEngineer - you have a lot of SYNC insight and have contributed a bit to this site over the years. Do you have any insight as to why the software Engineers thought “Ford Blue” would be the new color choice to cram down everyone’s throats? The new SYNC 3 (v3.4) default display is a horrible color setting in both regular (daylight) and dark mode. Why not have ALL product line display colors available in all SYNC platforms?

Ford:
Allow users to either choose their own color palette options by adding the feature set to the SYNC display options in ALL vehicles OR please choose better not “in your face” default colors for both daylight and dark modes.

My biggest complaint is with Apple car play. It’s blindingly bright at night, much brighter than sync 3’s normal display. It’s been like that on every sync 3 car I’ve been in or had. My old f150, my wife’s flex, and my mustang are blindingly bright at night. I usually turn the display off.

Personally I do not have an issue with the colors. That said I totally get those who do. What I do not understand is since Sync 3 already has a color menu under the display settings so why not give us a greater selection. Kind of MyColor for Sync 3.

I voted I don't care. That being said I like the deep blue of the dark mode better than the light blue of the day mode and run dark mode all the time.

I wouldn't know lcd is turned off, shortly after warm up. Wish there was a way to save the setting.

It's almost as annoying as having to reset the exhaust to track every time ya go for a ride.

But fixed that one lol

One other thing I don't like is that the map uses bigger fonts, plus one extra banner while navigating, which makes the usable map surface effectively smaller than it was in 3.0.
But everything else is great. These two things (and maybe the odd bug) aside, it's a worthwhile upgrade.

I don't mind the day theme. The bright blue buttons at the bottom of the main screen may be a bit ugly and in-your-face, but not overly so. I can live with that.
The night theme is horrendous though.

Can you back out of the upgrade ? Most times a user can't when these companies push this stuff to the field.

And I secretly think you're getting more under the hood than you may want.

Face it, free means you always give up something for the pleasure.

Have a 2020, took delivery of it April the 15 .......... best TAX ever!! The application version is the same as was sent.

Most driving 90%, display is off. The only improvement I would opt for, a way to have it as a preference.

Do I use the app, occasionally when out driving not paying attention just riding get lost. And needing a heading for the home 20.

That blue color is just ridiculous. Glad I could change it with FORScan, but yes, it shouldn't be necessary to do that. Changed it to the MY20 Lincoln gray in permanent dark mode, with better contrast with the 'soft keys' below, and it's perfect for the Mustang black interior IMO. Also disabled the blue animation in favor of the FP one (generic, with no specific model), so no more freaking blue on my car .

The color doesn't bother me. My problem is that it doesn't work. I am unable to search for artists on my iPod or use navigation by either voice command or touchscreen. Brought the car to the dealer today and found out that it's a software issue and they will contact me when an update is available.
