Sync 3 V3.4

Got an e-mail today from Ford telling me I have a Sync update. Not sure if it is for my wife's 18' Escape or my 19' GT. Of course the Ford Owner site is down so I cannot log in. Maybe tomorrow.

What browser you using? I ask because I just tried Explorer(IE) and the site would not allow to log in. Then tried Chrome and no problem.

I was using Safari and then went to Chrome. Chrome then locked up on me.

I was able to get to this page. https://help.ford.com/update-sync/ I entered my VIN and it told me that my 3.3 was up to date. So I'm guessing no 3.4 at this point. Disappointed.

My Bullitt on 3.3 is also "up to date!".. I know there is a 3.4 hack floating around. But Ill wait for the official release.

Might be a dumb question, but is it possible to install the NAV files without updating to v3.4 on the first gen Sync3s? Just getting the 1 18 updates for navigation?

Ray, can’t he do the breeves update? Doesn’t that include the maps?

In order to do the map updates for (free) you would need to do the 3.2 3.3 3.4 update which re-formats the APIM Module to a 1.5gb partition, older ones have 1gb partition. The only other way to do the map update would be to buy it from Ford. They sell the Map update.

So I went to this site and they forwarded me to the same site I got my Mustang (V3.3) update from. On there i entered my VIN and ESN number and I was offered the same two choices as my Mustang. Either pay for the key or download for free. I am now downloading SyncPre32.zip. Let's see how it goes.

I'm also trying to update my wife's Escape Sync to 19205. Downloaded the file but couldn't unzip it using Stuff Expander. Tried another expander and it worked. Then I put it in the car and got the 005 error. will try again.

2019 APIMS Get a free update as far as I know.

This is for my wife's 2018 Escape. Sync 3.0 Trying to update to 19205 but the is an issue with the download from Ford. The map download went fine. Just waiting to update in the car. By the way I think that's why the file says SyncPre32.zip.

Also having an issue with my 19 Stang. Downloaded the files, moved them to my flash drive and got an error about 20 minutes in. Spoke to Ford they said to reload a new drive and try again. I did and this time it seemed to work, no error codes. When I restated my car and checked I still have the 2917 map file. Any ideas?

Hi Jonathan. Well I guess it didn’t go all that well. Maps still show 1-17. I tried putting the stick in again and nothing happed. I did get a screen that I updated to 19052 but I did that months ago. I loaded up a brand new stick and I’ll try again tomorrow. If it doesn’t work I’ll reach out to Ford again.
