This thread is proof the "slow" is a relative term.
This.

My '15 is "slow" compared to my former GT500, but isn't a slow car by any means.....

i dont think it will be a few years for the GT to spike to 40k. a base GT can be had at 29k. im guessing at least 5-7 years if it happens at all.

I mean look at this Ecoboost motor I've got in here. Yeah, the power figures are respectable, but you have to ask why they didn't give us a smaller V8 option instead..... for exhaust note alone, and also so you didn't have to constantly defend the car from haters..
I love the sound of a V8 over any other type of engine and all my cars/truck I own are over 400hp & all are V8. If I had to choose between a slower V8 or a faster 4,6,10,12 I would still pick the V8 for the sound. The V6 Mustang that we did have sounded great at idle but at full throttle not so much

I wouldn't bother with defending your car haters are going to hate. The weight balance of the EB Mustang is better than the 2015 GT that feels nose heavy in comparison. I thought the low end power of the EB was pretty respectable so enjoy your car.

Here's a clip of our 2006 V6 Mustang against a 2000 GT. I had to feather the peddle off the line or the rear tires would just go up in smoke. Great low end power so it felt fast up to 60mph or so but from a 50mph roll it was fairly gutless.

When I first got mine I thought it was a frickin monster and it scared the shit out of me. After a week it seemed normal to me it still gives me the occasional oh shit moments. The car drifts nice when I want to straighten it out I just grab another gear heee haaaa.

Get a Procharger, tune to 7500 and you won't want a Voodoo after that.

Old man and his what appeared to be wife pulled up next to me at a red light on the second week of having my car. End of that story. Next, went to performance shop later that week and sat in the owner's supercharged S550.

So yeah. Going to be an interesting next few months for me :). Going to embrace it as much as I can, and hopefully next year I'll be done for awhile and can take some medicine for this mod fever.

How long until it feels slow? Right out of the box. I've been bike-only for about ten years before deciding to get into a new GT. My daily rides for a while were pretty boring and predictable, but even my 70 horsepower DL650 had a better power-to-weight ratio than the new GT; at 490 pounds, each pony was responsible for 7 pounds (versus 8.5 for the Mustang, at 3700 pounds).

When I want to go quickly on a bike I'll hop on my Suzuki B-King (185 horsepower, 518 pounds for 2.5#/hp) or Ducati Multistrada 1200 (3.5#/hp). For a while I owned a turbocharged Hayabusa which carried about 1.8#/hp. To put the Mustang, at 3,700 pounds, in a similar power-to-weight category as either of my quick bikes I'd have to be putting out about 1,200 horsepower.

Driven well, the B-King is a 9-second 1/4-mile bike and the Multistrada's in the 10s. Both bikes will hit 60 in under 3 seconds if launched correctly.

Now, don't get me wrong: The Mustang GT is a quick car. However, I drove it home and thought, "Well, this is okay."

Pretty soon members on here will be going to roller coasters and sport bikes, like a methadone for speed, lol...
Even bikes you get used to pretty quickly... and it takes a few weeks away from one, and in something sluggish to reset your brain, so to speak.

Bikes are curiously evil too, because the power / maneuverability makes you feel like you can simply get out of any sort of bad situation, even though it's not true at all. :)

I have about 2000 miles on my GT now and was still happy with it's performance until a friend of mine let me drive his newly purchased 2015 Challenger Hellcat...wow is that fast....although he spent close to double what I did, if I had an extra cash to do a supercharger I probably would now !!!

I feel you brother , I came off my 2012 ZX14R that ran 8.40s ..But I still love the power of the 2015 mustang ..Coming from a back ground of late 60s and early 70s muscle cars that ran 14s stock on a good day with no goodies like A/C the Mustang GT is a real nice up grade .. My Boss 429 Stang was faster but it had a lot of mods but was a bear to drive daily ..
