What are the main differences in how the car feels when driving a supercharged GT vs a turbo charged GT? I have a supercharged GT and I think I have too much power coming on too soon losing traction on Nittos 555 G2, or maybe my driver app is broken.

What type of Blower are you running? Sounds like a PD blower either TVS/Whipple?

I can assure you torque will not be lower and will not come on softer with a turbo setup lol.

turbos hit like a freight train and have more torque, generally, thank SCs. My last one in an 02GT was over 700Tq and 673HP. HIT LIKE HELL at about 3000RPM and never let off.

As said turbos will usually hit even harder than your supercharger, but may be a little higher of an RPM.

What size tires are you running? Might have to go wider.

In the end though, with as much power as either setup will give you, keeping traction on the street is hard. Have to ease into the throttle and learn how to control it to get the most power down with the least wheelspin.

With 700 HP on my 08 GT turbo and blower, I could light my tires on fire before I was half way across the intersection just by mashing the loud pedal. The turbo hit felt a bit harder because of the spool.

You just need stickier tires op.

A set of drag radials does wonders for traction, even if you have them on a second set of rears just for good wether. A max Performance tire like Michelin Pilot 4s or Conti Extreme Sport would give better traction in both dry and wet that your current tires.

Generally turbos hit harder, but pd blowers hit hard too. You can ramp in the boost on a turbo setup to make it pretty linear like a centri with the right boost controller.

I had a Roush on my 'll Brembo car with the 373 gears. I HAD to use DRs. It makes a ton of difference. I used the Nittos because I wanted some street handling and the 555 drs did the trick. You still had to really heat them at the track, though. Use drs in say 305 or up and you will be fine.

Turbo is going to have a big TQ hit when they come online. You can see it in the dyno sheets with the bit TQ swell. Centris are similar, generally with a less dramatic "hit". PD cars are the closest thing to "NA big block" feel other than a well tuned progressive nitrous controller.

Tires will make a huge difference. For me, it was a combination of tire and gearing to get it just right. I went to 3.15's from 3.73's and the car is 10000% better with all aspects of driving being markedly improved...and I can take her welllll past what the speedo says now, lol.

I disagree with a turbo being a “hit.” Turbo torque swells very quickly, but it’s not exactly the same as a PD “hit.”

Two cars identical in every way with the exception of turbo vs PD blower on a roll at 2500rpm in 2nd go WOT at the exact same time: PD guy gets smashed into the back of the seat immediately and the perceived tapers slightly toward the high rpm whereas the turbo guy feels a quick push into his seat and then the pull generally gets harder as rpm climbs.

Superchargers as a general rule of thumb have much more linear power as they build boost with RPMs. Here's another member's photo of a whipple dyno run:

https://ibb.co/iJF1aG

See how smooth and linear the horsepower is and how much flat torque that coyote + sc makes from down low to up high? This often makes superchargers preferable for circuit/road racing as the linear power is easier to control in the turns. Less chance of unexpected boost breaking your rear free.

What you're finding out with your GT is two things:

1. The Coyote makes a ton of torque down low.

2. With the supercharger you're making a lot more torque and horsepower and basically raising that same power band.

It won't be any easier to handle with a turbo. Depending on how it's sized, how much boost, and a multitude of other factors you can experience much less linear output. Meaning pushing your foot just a hair harder can yield a drastically different output resulting in unintended consequences. AKA you go into a tree. With your supercharged GT you just need to be more careful and linear with your right foot if you're trying to avoid sliding around. If you just mash it down you're gonna be all over the place with either a turbo or a supercharger. This isn't a 4-banger with a huge turbo and lots of lag.

Funny enough there was a really good youtube video showing two mostly identical cars with a turbo and supercharger kit around a track with similar max hp/tq numbers. The turbo car was faster straight line with a good launch, but the supercharged car was a fun track car to whip around corners compared to the turbo car. I'll see if I can find that video.
