How does flex tune work?

I haven’t come across a definitive explanation yet: How does a flex tune work? Can I run 93, then fill up with e85 and just fire up and go? I thought I saw a tube you vidya that said you need to idle for a bit while the computer relearns. If I run e85 for several tank fulls on a flex tune, is that any different than a dedicated e85 tune? Same hp at the end of the day? Thanks for the explanation!

You don't have to idle it but most do because they look at the dash display and freak out when it shows 17 to 1 AF ratio. If you are also logging you will see that it is adding 30% fuel and the "lambda" is 1 or stoich. Which is what it is supposed to be.

You don't have to let it idle.

The max power of a flex tune and most dedicated tunes are the same. The difference is mid range rpm areas, the dedicated has more spark timing.
