How does the Lund Ngauge unlock process work?

If there is already a mega thread or FAQ on this please let me know.

I am unfamiliar with the whole HP vs Lund version of the nGauge and soon will be selling mine. I bought the ngauge directly from Lund, and have only used the tunes from them on it. My question is, will it ever be "unlockable" at this point and if so what is that process other than just putting it back on stock tune?

Lund ngauge can only be used for Lund tuning. Lund can unlock it for use with another vehicle. The process is to send an email to support with the serial number and they will tell you if it can be unlocked and what the procedure is.

Ask Lund Tuning directly, I swore I remember reading they would unlock it so anyone could put a HPTuners file on there so long as you pay them to do it.

Whatever the resolution is, please report back.
