I've noticed some discoloration and dullness starting to happen on my exhaust tips and the finish on it does seem a bit delicate and I'm not even sure what it is exactly. I've been using only regular car wash soap, afraid to put anything heavier duty on them. So I'm curious what does everyone use to clean theirs?

Regular car polish works just fine. Do not use rubbing compound. Metal polishes are also fine, but car polish is more gentle and gets the job done.

I've been using this since the original 5.0 days on Mustang SS exhaust tips, works excellent and produces a nice shine:

Never Dull. But I find that after just a few days, the tips get discolored again. I think it's just the nature of the heat coming out of the exhaust.

It comes off pretty easily.
Start with something mild first, I use glass cleaner to get 99% then go to non abrasive polish.

I have this borla exhaust polish from when I had my Borlas on the last stang. Haven’t used it yet but you’d use it with this steel wool and that would shine them up pretty good. I need to order more of that steel wool actually.

Well for mine until I get some better tips I'm not going to do much as I got a nice slice in the thumb from them last time I washed them! Another thread My Mustang bit me, LOL. The 2020 GT tips are thin and SHARP.
