Hi!

First time owning this Mustang. Owned a C5 before. Anyway, I have the EB convertible variant without mag-ride. What are some suspension upgrades I can purchase to assist the car in taking corners and feeling planted? I do have plans for new rubber in terms of tires. Would upgrading the sway bars and lowering the vehicle a slight bit improve the cornering? Will a strut-bar also assist in some sort of way?

Side note, launching the car and shifting through the gears (automatic) the wheels chirp. I'd imagine that's cause I need more grip/meat on the wheels. The near future upgrade is Stage 2 Cobb FBO (IC, CAI & Mapping)

Overall - Really enjoying this car, it's a blast! Thanks in advance.

First thing I would do is replace shocks and struts with Bilstein B6. And if you don’t have a strut tower brace get one. Then see if you want more.

Stiffer springs, better dampers, tires and a more aggressive alignment with more camber. Also, address the IRS subframe with bracing or replace the subframe bushings. After that can you also add stiffer anti-roll bars, but the other things IMO you kinda need.

IMO, best bang forthe buck right here. You can spend more, but this kit is dialed in.

This! I did 3 track days on the stock suspension before installing the Ford Performance Track Handling Pack (see my build thread). I’ve since done 12 track days and a ton of daily driving with the new suspension. It really is the perfect balance. My wife doesn’t think it’s too harsh, and my HPDE instructors are impressed with the handling 👍

Tires are the most important factor (after the driver). To own a great handling car you have to pay to keep great shoes on it, and you need to learn to drive it well. What are you doing to make the driver more capable? Doesnt really matter what the car can do if you dont know how to get it to do it.

Then a good alignment. Especially an alignment which goes for a bit more than factory camber specs, ideally by using camber plates in the front. The alignment, like tires, needs to be refreshed from time to time

Then you get into the suspension with shocks, springs, swaybars (not necessarily in that order).

Unfortunately not having the Torsen diff is a flaw thats hard (more expensive) to fix. Its particularly a problem putting power down in corners.

I recommend the stop the hop kits I use Steeda. This full kit with LCA bearings and front control arm bearing keeps everything in line improving grip. Along with swaybars, coilover kit. Strut tower, k frame brace.
Handling like it's on rails.

Don't buy the 'vert lol.

But for real:

(Advice for Wheels and Tires) I myself went 19x9.5 et35 w/ 285/35-19 in all 4 corners (again stick with a square stance)
https://apexwheels.com/fitment-guides/ford/mustang/ford-s550-mustang-wheel-and-tire-fitment-guide

And you'll want to hit springs and dampers, plus some combo of a stop the hop kit (or BMR equivalent) (not sure what fits a vert).

The only experience i have with Mustangs is my own non PP GT, but when I installed this it went from feeling like a cruiser to a proper sports car. It's also still pretty compliant, my wife, who hated my miata on coilovers, has no complaints. Aside from scraping the odd high speedbump, i've had no issues daily driving this for the past 2 years.

The FP Track suspension is indeed a good bit of kit. For someone that doesn't want to do a lot of research and just wants their car to work and handle better, this does the job.
