I agree here with Manders, wait till you come over, make a weekend of it, Mike says that this is the most stressful job he does to a Mustang, he'll get it right though

He can do it in a morning, tape it up for you so as the sealant gets a chance to go off when you drive it away. He also makes a very neat job of the soundproofing/heat shield under the bonnet, this needs cut away as well to stop it getting saturated and affecting the whole area with water.

Don't worry re water ingress, any water that gets in drains off into innocuous areas and doesn't get to anywhere that would cause concern. This was a concern to me initially, but after a good couple of snowfoams and washes, it's all good under there.

Again, his last words were, 'the way they should've came' ;)
I was a tad concerned about water ingress also but thought sod it and took a chance. Was pleasantly surprised at the weekend to realise that any water that goes in runs between the two skins and out a pre cut hole just above the headlights. No watermarks on anything ( washer cap and CAI housing) whatsoever directly below the vents.

Does anyone know if there is a template online showing where the bonnet should be cut?

My vents + Starkey LED indicator kit are on their way, but I will need to get my local (generic) bodyshop guy to do the work.... where do you cut is going to be his first question me thinks!
The roush hood scoop has them in the template that what I used but its a big paper template so dont know if you could print it off.

Thanks folks.

Getting ModurStang to do them is my ultimate pref, but im only very rarely in the UK with the GT (one time last year), so finding an opportunity might be taxing.

I have to say, I think any half decent body shop that does modification work could do this. I have had all the work done on my car at a local body shop 5 minutes walk from my work. In fact, I think they may have been the first in the UK to do it, when they fitted them to my car.

To us, its scary as you are making a big hole in the hood but to a really good body shop, it should be fairly straight forwards.

Dont get me wrong. I am not suggesting taking it to a body shop the just does insurance repairs to run of the mill family cars but a shop that had experience and a good portfolio of modding cars

Buy loads of mods, pop over to UK during one of our meets, double win :).

Hood vents are becoming common now!! I thought I was going to be a loan wolf when I fitted them but 'trend setter' feels good too!

I think you should be OK with the fenders, given the fitment issues ;)

Anyway,
So I may have said that I lent on the bonnet just in front of the passenger side vent and it popped the bonnet from the vent and I may have said to others to be aware of this.= when cleaning.

What I should have added is, for crying out loud if this happens to you get it re-bonded asap, don't just think, 'it'll be fine'.....it wont!

It parted company from the bonnet as I was cruising down the M25 admiring a nice Camaro that had left American Speedfest about the same time as myself.

Through the power of social media and my new friends from mustang6g (namely Manders and 666mac) I have another set on the way.

Mind you, my gaffer tape repair is making me wonder if I need the new ones. You can hardly see the difference!!

Oh dear but at least no other damage and hopefully an easy fix. Was only just looking at your car yesterday at Speedfest and didn't see you about anywhere
