But it costs 25% more and has a warranty that is 1/4 as long.
I've dealt with steeda plenty. I'm sure if I have issues, they will take care of it. And I didn't pay the price on their website anyways.

Some have had alignment problems with the MRTs- there's a big thread about it here somewhere.

Could somebody please explain to me why Ford made the choice not to include hood struts in the first place? This is the first car I have owned (other than my old Jeep Wrangler) where the hood has a prop rod. What is the thinking on this in a $50k car?
That this vehicle performes as well, or better than cars with much higher price points should be in your consideration as well. I don't care about hood struts, so I don't see your point. There is a prop rod.... Drake has a SS one for like 30 bucks.

My guess, the hood is not metal and has flex to it..
You really do not want any force pushing against a fiberglass hood or plastic
what ever they are made of.
I am sure it also saves a bunch of coin for Ford also.

I would rather Ford spend money on better quality control so people's hoods, bumpers, rear windshield brake light etc allignt correctly.

Redlines. My third set; had them on a Fox and an SN95 as well. They went on easy even with having to drill the battery cover (template and step bit provided. Nice.)

That they extend farther forward is good. That hood is LONG and HEAVY. It needs all the support it can get.

I ordered mine directly from Redline and 2 days later they were delivered. The kit comes with clear instructions and even includes a drill template and step drill. The install was very easy and they work flawlessly. Great job Redline!

On the back of the strut, where the socket is, there is a small metal clip that needs to be pulled back to release the strut from the ball. I just used a small flat blade screwdriver while at the same time pulling the strut away from the ball bracket.

That should get you in business!

I thought I would update everyone on the MMD hood struts.

Today I removed. I liked the way that they were smaller and easier to work around than the Redline Tuning ones but the drawback was that the hood bowed up just slightly on the left side and more noticably on the right.

I got them throuh American Muscle and they say the pics and will take them back and give me a credit towards Redlines.

Here is with the MMD's

Both of the Mustangs in my driveway ('15 EB and '06 GT Conv) now have Redlines.

Love em.
