Hey guys,

I own a 2019 Mustang GT with Performance Package 1...

I’m looking for a new tire/rim set up from the OEM ones, I need something more aggressive.

I really like the look of the PP2 Mustang since it’s 305’s all the way around. I really want to do 305’s all around, but i’ll settle for a little less if I have to.

What’s the offset that my car can go to? The wheels im currently looking at are AR927 (American Racing). If I go with the 19 inch option, it’s 19x9 front and 19x10 rear. The front is 35mm offset and the rear is 45.

Since I want 305 all around, would 45mm offset clear the brakes in the front?

Next question: On American muscles website, it said the front tires should not pass 9 width. Is this true?

Anyways, what’s my best option? Should I go 305 all around or should I do 275 front and 305 rear.

Thanks!

10" is too small for a 305 tire. 9" is WAY too small.

If you want to run 305 square, it's best to run square wheels. As in 11's squared, with 25mm bolt through spacers up front and long studs.

No, AM are idiots when it comes to proper road course wheel & tire sizes.

don't put 305s on a 10" wheel and DEFINITELY don't put them on a 9". the bulge is going to look goofy and you will sacrifice straight line and handling performance vs. correct tire widths

What tire size do you recommend with a 19x9 front and 19x10 rear.

What specs do you recommend without anything else?

Assume I do 19x9 and 19x10 Rim. What is a nice looking tire up front and back, assuming i don’t want to lower the car either

personally i have a similar setup and run Sumitomo HTR ZIII and they have great grip especially for the money, but I've also had good experience with the Hankook V12 Evo2 (sidewall was just a little too soft for me but straight line grip was good). i run 245/45/19 front and 275/40/19 rear. The tire diameter is the same front and rear. of course that's staggered. if you want a square setup maybe you can do 265/40/19 front and rear. a 9" and 10" width wheel would both pair up correctly to those. not sure how easy it is to find tires in that size though

Price?

The LMR wheels are good value, and have several choices in looks.
So buy a set of one of their +35 or +40 10" wheels and run 275 or 285 square.
Or if you are set on 305's, and don't mind the extra effort of spacers & studs, get a set of 11's (+50 or +55) and run 305 square.

Ignore American Muscle's dumb advice not to run bigger than 9" wheels up front.

I just want a really aggressive look with not as much space, i like a tight fitment, but I also like when the wheels poke a bit.

Here are the rims I want to use: https://www.americanracing.com/product/wheels/ar927-barrage/

19x9 front and 19x10 rear.

I don’t want to play with studs and what not, but 285 won’t do it for me, as my stock tires are already 275.

Would I be able to run a 275 in the front and a 295 in the rear with these?

if you're talking about the LMR PP2 reps they are still out of stock i think, but i agree that is the best aftermarket choice on the market if you want that look...when it's in stock

265 is too small, i want an aggressive look. I was hoping to run 295’s in the back at least

Look at this set up: https://lmr.com/item/WTK-177913NA/mustang-sve-r350-wheel-tire-kit-graphite-19x10-11-15-17-nt05

19x10 and 19x11. 275-305....

Does that build need spacers then...? If so, why

This set will not need spacers to fit properly on your car because they’re made with the correct offsets to push the wheels out and clear the struts/shock mounts. SVE makes these wheels specifically for Mustangs and many of them are flow formed - all of the strength and much less weight. That’s going to be a nice flush, aggressive fitment with the tires LMR includes with the wheel and tire package. You could go to a 285 on the front 10” wheel for a little more meat.

The tire package is actually 285/305.... I’m so excited. I’m gonna be saving up for these and getting them around august hopefully hahaha.

Thank you for your input though.

You need spacers to run those 11" wheels on the front. Which you would need to run 305 square, like you said you wanted to do in your first post.

And I would highly recommend a square setup for track use. It will almost always handle better, and willgwill better tire life. My first set of wheels were 10"/11", and I burned up a couple of expensive front tires with them. Now I run 10" square that work better even giving up some rear tire size.

You can go with actual PP2 wheels and then you can rock 305's all around. There is always that option
