Just bought some steel OEM style rear shock mounts from Rock auto and replaced the J&M worn ones (with spherical bearings). Noise is completely gone. Note to self: don’t be foolish and buy anything with spherical bearings on a car that’s driven in winter. Car feels fantastic now without the...
That’s a great suspension setup. Hope it helps! I still have a rear rattle that may be worn bushing related. I’m going to also check the tightness of the rear shock mount top nuts. Rear suspension manages bumps well but over repeated small bumps I have noise on both sides. Need to investigate.
I feel like this type of rattle is the most prolific across these cars from 2015 (like mine) all the way to new Mach 1s for example. I have yet to figure out what mine is after trying multiple solutions. I don’t believe it’s interior related.
I get the feeling it may be the top nut on the shock...
If you’re looking for more controlled and better damped ride, I’ve read nothing but good things about this setup:
Ford Performance Track Handling Pack
I know it says track handling pack but they’re not harsh. The springs are progressive, the dampers are great and the sway bars will help reduce...
I bought a 2015 GT Premium with PP1 (3.73 gears) and Recaros in Feb 2017 so it’s been 6 years with the car. I’m the second owner. The car had 40k miles on it from a highway driving first owner. It was CPO from my Ford dealer and I paid $29k CAD at the time so maybe low to mid $20k range USD.
The...
A few questions for ya:
1) Does this allow for Apple CarPlay or Android Auto functionality?
2) Is there an installation guide for the necessary software changes through FORscan?
3) Where did you source this kit?
Cheers
If you’re going to lower on skinny stock wheels, definitely get 25 mm spacers. I ran 25 mm spacers on stock PP1 wheels stock height and lowered; it looked good. The additional negative camber tucks the wheels in even more and it looks really bad without spacers (especially in the rear hips)...
It was the rear shocks. I swapped out the garbage Koni Actives (with only 2k miles) for Bilsteins. Problem solved. Before that I put in Eibach bump stops and J&M rear shock mounts to help improve the situation.
The square 19x10 +25 setup won’t poke when lowered with decent camber but that 19x11 +18 rear on the magnetic definitely pokes. I can see it without the straight on side angle.
i was unable to find dimensions for the 6 piston vs 4 piston calipers to know for sure if they clear. I seem to be the...
Thanks for sharing these man. I didn’t see either before buying and I looked. Makes me kinda regret buying the A face for the front but oh well. I can’t change it now but I will be getting wider/taller tires up front next season. The first one in the same colour as mine looks really good.
These dampers are trash overall. The front struts are decent so I left them in but my rear shocks shit the bed within 5k miles and were making plenty of rattle noise. I believe the valve or piece inside that modulates the fluid flow probably came loose. It’s a poorly built twin tube shock and...
I completely understand the desire to keep that fender flush mean stance. I plan to replace my summer tires next year and go with a 275/40/19 square setup (versus 255f/275r); I want more sidewall upfront for my crap roads and a little more front grip
The other two wheels you mentioned are both...
The reason I didn’t want to chance it is because of the low offset of +25 on the B face 10” wheel. I also wanted to use my current 255 width tires so I went 9.5” A face front. I recognize that having a 10” B face wheel all around would look excellent. If the B face didn’t clear the Brembos, I...
