2015 Convertible GT. Always park in my garage with top down. Today left my only key fob in backpack in the trunk. (Lost spares in a recent house move). Car is locked. Top is down but using the door unlock or dash trunk release just sounds two beeps w/out unlocking anything. Options?

This happens to me a lot, for some reason the car doesn't detect the key fob in the trunk and won't allow you to open the trunk. If you have the fordpass app on your phone you can unlock the car that way. (I have a 21, unsure if the 15's have this feature)

Not sure if the dealer can order a pre-cut key blade (to use in the door to unlock) or if they are cut at the dealer, but if they can, that’s the cheapest way forward.

Looks like 2015s don’t have that Fordpass feature.

Yeah thinking calling Ford is my only option here.

Convertible rear seats do not fold.
Have thought about removing the back seats. Spooked about climbing over the doors to get in and do it tho, assuming I’ll trip the alarm.

That is an option to think about. If you go that route it might be best to disconnect the battery. But I'd wear hearing protection. Trying to take off the negative terminal with the horn blaring in your face wouldn't be fun.

If you only had a the mechanical blade key you could use the trunk release switch next to the rear seat seat-back.

Call lock smith, they can unlock doors. They can even reprogram a new FOB saving big buck over a Ford Dealer. Good Luck.

Removing the rear seat of a convertible still doesn't give you much room to work with. There is a bulkhead behind the seat so only a very small opening to reach into the trunk around the system to raise and lower the top.

When this happened to me on my 2006 the locksmith came out and was able to open the trunk within a few minutes.

You may need a Locksmith since you don't have a 2nd key fob (and if removing rear seat back is challenging).

Your trunk control might be the issue for locking the fob in the trunk too:
Interior Trunk Control Lockout (Convertible Vehicles Only)

This feature disables the interior trunk control. It helps prevent unauthorized access to the trunk when the convertible top is open.

To disable the interior trunk control:

1. Make sure the vehicle is off and accessory power delay is not active.

2. Lock the vehicle using the remote control or the power door lock switch.

To enable the interior trunk control:

• use the remote control to unlock the vehicle • switch the ignition on.

The interior trunk control will now work normally.

if you ever fall into the trunk and it locks, look for this handy dandy glow in the dark pull:

Remove rear seats.
Remove the bench cushion, backrest are only two screws to remove
The opening is large enough for ski equipment.
