Hey guys
Please help
I'm considering the possibility to do Nationals this Sept and I'm looking to squeeze out some extra HPs.
My 2018 is track only.
Anyone has some data between HEADERS vs Highflow cats?

I'm e85 CAI and ATAK3 (this catback already gave me 12whp. )

I want to understand if almost 2000$ are worth it at least 10whp.
And
What is your favorite brand for 2018?
Especially I've heard fitting issues.

Please remember that I've already gain HP with the Atak3 (so maybe the gain with headrs is less?)

Thanks in advance.

Adding LTH to your 18 with E85 should easily net you well over 10 HP at the wheel. I recently had a set of LTH brand LTHs installed and the fitment was spot on, welds were great and hardware was top notch. Would easily recommend them to anyone in the market.

Beautiful car btw!

Not in the least. There's easier/much cheaper ways to gain 10+ hp.

So you only gain 10hp with headers if you're already on a E85 tune+ X-Pipe & CAI? I thought it was more like 15-20 hp. I ordered a set of Stainless Power Catted 2 months ago and still waiting, debating if they're worth it at this point.

So you only gain 10hp
To be fair, I said 10+.. but for me, $100 per hrspwr.. not even if I was a millionaire. Just shows how efficient the factory headers already are. They're just choked off by the cats.

IMO factory headers / free flow exhaust / 2.5" piping right from the header flange to the muffler tips.

Then 50 to 100 cpsi cats fitted to the OEM 5.0 header and call it good.
Now the bad news, paying for a 50 /100 cpsi cat that is mantled and furnace brazed.
You’re a racer so blowing out or melting the substrate isn’t an option so I’d suggest reaching out to HJS or Milltek Sports.

I didn't understand Greg lol.
So you are saying to change my cats with a sort of high flows ones?
For my understanding no cats is better no?

Longtube headers w/out cats is the way to go. I got my Corsa headers + installation for less than 2k.

Are you allowed to run without catalytic converters ?
if you live where I do, yes technically; we havnt had emissions checks in like 15 years. car meets smells like drag strips, nothing but fuel smells. half the people dont have cats.

The only annoying issue I find with headers is the difference in cat location from stock. In many cases especially while tuned, you will not ready your O2 sensors because of this with long tube headers. If you can still use the stock tune, they will still ready. I believe it's the tune more than anything but they'll argue with you forever that "they are turned on".

I would probably do headers again though on a 2018+ because you don't need to change the intake manifold. You can still swap back to a stock tune if you need to for inspection. Would also go catless if running E85 too or have intentions of doing a supercharger later.
