Wanted to let people here know about my experience with Hellhorse Performance as I recently made a purchase through their website and received terrible customer service.

I bought their 18+ 3d printed imrc lockouts. I waited several days and got no info on shipping. It’s a 3d printed part so I figured it might take some time to ship. I sent an email to their support email asking for a rough estimate of when it will ship out.

After several days of not hearing anything I called their phone. The employee said they would look into it and get back to me. He never did so a few days later I called again. We did this cycle for about a week until they told me the owner was going to send me some metal ones instead.

Okay fine, that sounds reasonable. I never hear anything back so I call again to see if they have been shipped and am told they were sent out and they will get me tracking info. A few more days past and I hear nothing so I call again and am told that the package didn’t ship out and is sitting on the shelf and they will send it that day. Never hear anything so after a couple days I call again and am told it was sent out and they will reach back out to get me tracking info.

I wait a few more days and call back and the employee says that he will be honest with me and the owner is just jerking me around because he doesn’t want to deal with it and he will figure out what is happening and call back. He doesn’t call back so I call later that day and he says the package was never sent and they don’t have the parts. He said some BS about me needing 8 imrc lockouts and they only have 6 even though you only need 2…

After one month, 2 support requests, and 13 calls, I finally got my refund for a part they didn’t have and the upgraded part they said they shipped but actually didn’t have.

The funny thing is you can still buy this part on their website. If you check their Google reviews it is clear I am not the only one.

I have the MMR kit and the quality is great! They are pricy compared to the HellHorse version though.

There is also a zip tie method out there that some people use. Zander13 made a video when he used this method on his.

No worry with failure from heat cycling?

Also post is less about the imrc lockouts and more about the shitty company but I appreciate the input haha

Use metal cable ties.
I have found them to not stay tight over time. Use them for my header wrap and they constantly loosen

Sooooo I've searched google and the forum and can't find a definition of what an IMRC is. Anyone mind enlightening me, apologies if it's a stupid ask and somewhere else, but I quit after two pages of searching.

IMRC is a vacuum controlled flap in the intake manifold that restricts airflow to create air turbulence to mix the air and fuel better at low rpm giving more torque.

They can fail. I’m just locking them open because my tune disables them already. For stock and lightly mixed applications I see no point in locking them.

IMRC changes the length of the port. Shorter (open) more low end power, longer (closed) more top end power.

Not how the ford system works. Technically I think it’s called CMCV but we all call it IMRC too. Runner length is not changed. A flap opens in the runner causing turbulence.

Hmmm no. It definitely changes the runners length.
