^ That's how I do it as well. I think the stock pedal position is fine (for my size 11 foot), but those cross-drilled pedals sure are perty!

As someone already said, the brake and gas are setup for track. Feel free to watch the great honeybadger demonstrate the work of art.

That's not Honeybadger, that's me. But yeah, heel-toe in these cars is tricky on the street but I find it perfect for when you're on track. I still mess up a few shifts here and there but when you hit it right, it feels so good!

Here's another one.

I'm a heel and toe noob, but even being a beginner practicing, I agree with people saying the gas pedal a little way too low from brake. Even with the side of my foot, I'm having a hard time blipping.
Again, maybe I need to practice more and but it sure is a little frustrating.

This is exactly what I was talking about. Perfectly done. Don't know why they call it heel and toe because novices literally think that is what they mean.

I initially thought that maybe the phrase was coined in the days before power assist brakes such that you literally had to use your whole forefoot to apply enough brake pressure and could only operate the throttle with your heel, but Wikipedia had something different to say:

".....Sporting vehicles are usually modified (if necessary) so that the heights of the brake and accelerator pedals are closely matched when the brake is sufficiently depressed, and the pedals are not too far apart to permit easy use of heel-and-toe.

The name stems from pre-WW2 vehicles where the accelerator pedal was in the centre (between the clutch on the left and the foot brake to the right). The brake was able to be operated with the heel whilst the accelerator pedal could be simultaneously pressed with the toe. The technique is carried out in modern cars by operating the brake with the toe area, while rocking the foot across to the right to operate the throttle with the right side of the foot. With practice, it becomes possible to smoothly and independently operate both pedals with one foot. The technique is common in all forms of motorsports........"

I've never heard of the throttle being in the middle, but I wasn't around back then :)

I would recommend going out to an area where you can get on the brakes hard. I've been heel toeing for a few years now and I still find it quite hard to heel toe on the street... just not hitting the brake hard enough to get the gas pedal in range. Could also depend on the flexibility for rotating of your foot, I'm not very flexible so unless I am hard on the brake (like I typically am on the track), yeah... it's not an easy task on the street, which makes it hard to practice. Once you get the hang of it... it is a glorious feeling on track.

2017 GT350 now gone to a great home.
Ok, well we would all be crashing through those storefronts like the little old lady with the gas in between the clutch and brake. LOL

I always practice heel and toe, well actually "brake and sidestep" during daily driving mostly while exiting a highway off ramp or approaching cloverleaf. My Honda civic coupe pedal layout is perfect ...The GT350 is a different matter when practicing allows.
I did install a wider steeda pedal and also tried a billet pedal spacer, but then the gas pedal sat too high.and was removed, I agree the stock pedal height is good.

Thanks everyone ⚓ ; I ordered the steeda gas pedal as it was only $33; I don’t know if I will be able to attach it over the top of the original pedal which will raise the height by just the thickness of the pedal ? and it sounds like that may work . also it appears that a successful heel and toe with the Shelby is keeping my heel to the right Under the gas pedal and rotating the top of my foot to the brake , so the gas pedal catches the middle or lower right part of my foot I’m gonna give it a try! ( yes I Also practice my heel and toe whenever I downshift for smoothness on the street)

J...yes the steeda sits on top of the stock pedal...no issue at all.
