Headliner cost is about 1500$ CDN just for the headliner... Rear window has to come out to install it.

I just went through all this BS. I was worried but everything came out great.
TF was he smoking? I ended up with another '19ish GT come in with the same issue. No need to remove the rear glass whatsoever. A-pillar, C/D-pillar, and quarter trim need to come out. Disconnect the connector at the right A-pillar and the connectors to the mirror. Drop it and carefully remove and replace (transfer the harness first though).

Not looking forward to this on mine, I think it is more of a sag issue with the headliner itself (or poorly cut). I blame the foam used to space it from the roof.

I dunno man that's how the body shop did it when they replaced mine after an accident. At least that's what they said they did anyways.

The headliner is alot bigger than the door opening so it made sense at the time and I wasn't doing the repair so wasn't going to question it.

The new one looks / fits perfect so I don't really care how they did it. Insurance covered it. They could teleport it in there for all I care.

but you can see edge of liner in front hangs down about 1/2” to 3/4”+
the rear is typ both upper corners- you can see edge of liner

Need to check my car. So what happens if you push it up? Does it come back down again? But yes, it's a bit frustrating to have that kind of crappy build quality. Having said that, I'd find a way to fix it myself, rather than something that stupid cascading into more issues trying to fix it, not to mention potentially scratching your seats, doors, dash, and other interior pieces. Good luck.

I've got it happening at the back window on mine and at the A-pillar on both sides. I just read the tip about the seals at the beginning of this thread I will try that. I bought mine used and it was just out of warranty so guess I will have to foot the bill if it needs to be replaced....

I just picked up L5029 and noticed through the rear window the headliner is out the same. I’m afraid to have the dealership try and fix it. Gonna try an upholstery shop and get their opinion.

I was able to get mine looking better at the A-Pillars by pushing in the rubber seal more. Luckily my back window is tinted pretty dark so I can't see the roof gap there on mine. Let me know what you find out though. Thanks.

Anyone else notice the edge of the headliner being visible when driver/passenger doors are open? I’ve tucked both sides behind the door gasket and they just keep pooping out.

I had the same thing. Took it in and the seal was defective. They replaced it and all is well.

2020 GT350R and I just noticed this issue at the back end of the headliner where it meets the rear window. It's dropping down on both sides. Will call dealership tomorrow.

So after replacing the headliner at the dealership, I got home and in the better lighting of my garage, it is actually worse is some areas. Took it back to the dealership and spent 15 minutes with the tech and we even compared the fit to another GT350 they had in the shop and it definitely was much better than mine. He told me he thinks they can adjust it because the headliner uses magnets (had to google that and its true!). So hopefully they can get it to sit better and the edge not be so visible. Will update when I get it back.

Interesting that it uses magnets. i was wondering how it attached as I couldn't see a lip in the trim like on the side windows.

Update - they tried adjusting and it didn't get any better so they sent pics to Ford, which authorized yet another headliner replacement. Geez this is getting ridiculous. I mean a wonky headliner won't prevent me from loving my car but come on guys.

Tell them before they install the next one to use a black marker or dye to color the exposed white edge black... If the new headliner isn't cut nice, you're going to have the same exact issue with the foam core being exposed...

That is a superb idea - thank you very much! I will provide the marker!
