I went Rayno Air70 on the windshield and Rayno Phantom nano-ceramic 35% all-around. The image below shows the "lightest" look with the sun at its peak shining through. At dusk or in the shade, it's much darker. Love the 70% windshield and going 35% was just right for me (being in CA too).

Going through this just recently I can tell you that I wish mine was a little lighter as I lost some of the euro look it had before.

I went with 15% windows and back with 40% front. Some days it’s appreciated since it’s hot in Fl but if I could go back and do it over... I would do 35% all windows and 50% windshield. Would have maintained the look I wanted but gotten the heat rejection I needed.

I had my local dealer tint my side, rear quarter, and rear windows using "their guy." They didn't give me a choice in tint percentages...
This doesn't make any sense to me, LOL. If they wouldn't put what I wanted, my happy a$$ woulda went somewhere else.

I have Xpel ceramic 35% all around and very happy. looks very very similar to @lightrules car. Seems light in some angles, but perfect in others. I also agree with @Wizo on his comments too; to each his own, but sometimes too dark can start to look a little ghetto, IMO.

I read that as he didn't ask for anything specific. Not the same as them not giving what he wanted.

"If you choose not to decide you still have made a choice" - Rush (Peart)

I'm going much lighter i.e.40% to 50%. The real functional UV & IR aren't effected by that Ceramic and I like & need lots of light as I pass middle age and really need glasses for the 1st time. Will consider windshield at 70% or lighter - functionally that's really just about keeping UV out & knocking transmissive IR down a lot (I work with IR lasers so applying this solution seems an obvious win).

This is my old '17 with 20% on the side and 10% on the back. Pretty perfect for day and night driving I thought. I'll be getting the clear ceramic on my windshield along with tint this time around for my 19 though.

Correct. The dealer was doing some courtesy work for me, so I said as long as the car is here, go ahead and tint the windows for me. They said sure, and it never even occurred to me to ask about tint percentages. (I did the same with my BMW at the local BMW dealership and was very happy with the result. Obviously, results may vary...)

The only part that seems weird to me is that they would presume to tint so dark without asking you and to a level generally known to be illegal (its >=30% light transmission in a lot of States including yours - mine it's 35%). Dealers tend to have done what would pass inspection - seems dumb for them to assume liability w/that dark of a tint.

Meh, it doesn't bother me. I've had lots of LEO's drive past me with no problems... Even hung out with a state trooper at my last track day, and he had nothing but nice things to say about my car.

I have LEO friends - they're cool - and they're not the ones that I ever worry about (be it ghetto tint or a not installed front plate)
Anyway my point wasn't that you should worry but that its weird a dealer would do anything that would not pass inspection - they have nothing to gain by making that choice. <shrug>
