Low mileage ZO6! I would pick a ZR1 over a GT350R as well. Why pretend to own a sports car, when you can own a real one. No disrespect to the Shelby, but it ain't no Corvette. I own both brands, so take that for what it's worth .

I agree 100%.

If I were to trade in my GT on a GT350 equipped the way I want, the price difference is a used 2008 Z06. I can keep my GT and have a Z06, awfully tempting.

There are very few cars on the planet I would take over a C6Z. Love those things.

It is a 6 year old car^.

You can get a new Z51 vette for nearly the same price..! Almost everyone would take a Z51, over a late model Z06.

Either way... I fail to see your point. Because I would take a GT350 before both of them, and save money in the process.

It is a ZR1.

That my friend is a zr1 which had a value of $120,000 back in the day. I think that car might be still faster than the current zo7! The zr1 has a nurburging lap time of 7:19 63!

My point is, if you are buying a gt350r or gt350 track pack for track only use then for the same amount of money, there are other fast cars available! Even though they are lightly used.

What the hell! You, my friend, are obviously a Ford diehard! Speak for yourself, because I, for one, would never take a base or Z51 C7 over a C6 ZO6 and most definitely not a ZR1. Or you kidding me! It's a base vette. That's like comparing a S550 GT/PP to a S197 Boss 302 or Shelby GT500. I would not have pick my S550 over a Boss 302, if I didn't have a sport car already. My car was a good compromise of driving pleasure and affordability. I darn sure would not pick a 45k to 55k S550 over a 2013/2014 Shelby GT500!

I advise you to drive both or at least own a Corvette, before you repeat dumb stuff like that again. By the way, the C6 Z is packing 505HP and 470 torque and C6 ZR1 is packing 638 HP and 604 Torque. You would have to be high to pick a 450/450 car over that. The new interior don't compensate for lack HP in my book. Hell, I drove the C7 and was happy to get back into my cam C5 ZO6. Maybe, it being paid off had something to do with that as well.

As you say, we are all different with different priorities.

In all of your examples, I would choose the opposite as you, but in this case we can both be right.

I would pick:
C7 Z51 over C6Z (either Z06 or ZR1)
S550 GT/PP over Boss 302 or GT500

I think the new platforms offer greater overall potential than the maxed out versions on the older platforms.

I owned a Boss 302 Laguna Seca, ad it was a better handling car than my GT.

And what good does any of that do for you if you don't have the skill to properly pilot the car and get all those ponies to the ground (assuming you are doing more than straight lines up and down the blvd). There is a lot more to a car than just peak HP. By that metric why not just get a hellcat..700hp y0

a C7 over a ZR1?

a GT over a Shelby or a Boss?

you're silly...

Its subjective. Some will prefer a Vette others a Mustang on steroids. Then you just have those that cant afford either one but mod their Hyundai in a ridiculous effort to try get the same effect.

I saw a few modern vettes on Saturday, what pieces of crap. They seriously look like giant plastic toys. I could never own a car that looks so cheap. I understand it's a way to save on price to make such a high performing car, but I just can't take the look. I saw a 70s vette, and now that was nice.
