I'm currently working on a set up for more power. My friend says the GT350 intake manifold works great, and some say that the 18 is good as well. Price wise, the 18 manifold and its adaptions(for a 17 GT) cost together as much as the GT350. If you have either of these setups, please send your opinions and thoughts and also advice and things to note. I am running an Airaid CAI as well to add to that.

If you're revving to the moon (7500+) then the GT350 will carry power past that better. The 18 makes just as much power but starts to fall off fast after 73-7400.

If you are doing cams, GT350 or CJ are better. On stock cams and 7500 rpm, 18 manifold ftw.

Depend son your goals. You'll get most of the gains from a 18 or, better a ported 18. Unless your looking to rev over 7500. The big difference just looking at GT/Bullitt dynos(just for same engine comparison) is that the Bullitts peak is shifted up about 250-400RPM on average.

Get 18 IM, lockouts and a lund tune you will not regret it. My car pulls all the way to the 7800 rpm redline and makes much more power throughout the whole range.

For a daily driver/drag race setup I would go with the 18 mani. The gt350 IMO shines more somewhere like on a road course where you are living in the higher RPM range, but down low the 18 mani just edges it out. I personally run the Gt350 mani on my daily and love it, wouldn't change it for a 18.

18 mani, lockouts, 47 # injectors, tune = $800 to $900 lil more with ported intake & e85 or flex tune. GT350 new is what $999.00? I love the 18 mani. car pulls like a raped ape when revved.

OEM GT350 manifold is $640 from any dealership. Don't get hustled by FRPP who sells the same exact thing for twice the cost.

Do you have any dynos or is this more of a feel thing? Curious how the power is doing that high in the RPM range.
Dyno but definitely could tell way before I put it on the dyno. Id have find the graphs but it will spin tires shifting 1-2 and chirp them 2-3.

For most cases just stick with a ported 18. If you want to go faster and potentially use cams etc and Rev to 8k plus making power cobra jet ftw. I went from an 18 to a cobra jet, and the Cobra jet and bigger tb is very noticeablely faster. My car used to spin a bit in second with the 18 if it hit it hard around 3 to 4 k rpms and would get traction back pretty quick. Cobra jet hit it at 3 to 4 k and it will start to take off then blow the tires off all the way to 7800 redline then shift and finally hook in 3rd. My 2nd gear was usable with the 18, but with the cj it's about as worthless as first is. Now when I'm on concrete with my new drag radials things become fun

This is from personal experience, but I suggest to get the 18 manifold, EVEN BETTER TO PORT IT OUT AND DELETE IMRC'S. I have a ported 18 manifold with a pmas intake e85r tune from Lund and oh goodness she pulls all the way to redline. I do not regret it one bit. I have went up against another 5.0 with a 350 manifold and the race was pretty evenly matched until the top end hit... again this is personal experience, every car is different.

This! Really the only thing better than a ported 18 is a cobra jet, ported 18 is the king of kick for the price hard to beat.
